  • Why the Dollar Will Likely Rally in the Next Crash [View article]
When the market tanks there might be a shortage of dollars in the US since most of the TARP money has gone overseas. The rise of the dollar might be offset by the Chinese(mostly), Russians, Japanese, Brazilians dumping treasuries.

  • V-Shaped Recovery: Looking for Signs in Brazilian Market [View article]
I live in Brazil and shorted the dollar by buying commercial real estate in dollar denominated 3-year loans. It's been working out fine. I'm also trying to buy real estate in the U.S. with fixed rates.

  • Inverse Correlation of Stocks vs. Dollar at a Glance [View article]
I might be an ass or something...but I think that the dollar defaulting is the only way to prosper sooner. With gigantic amount of debt, maybe 80 trillions of total debt, the US will never be able to honor anything within 100 years. So if the debt is wiped out with the debasing of the dollar, it will be much easier to start from scratch. Of course there will be millions and millions of casualties in the process.

  • All the World Wants a Strong Dollar (Except the U.S.) [View article]
A weak dollar will force Americans to pay more for everything they consume. Maybe if the US had lots of natural resources to export it would help, but since the US is a giant Wal-Mart style (80% imported goods from China) economy it will suffer from a weak dollar. They would have to work a lot more to get the same of bang for the buck.

  • The Dollar's Decline is Slowing Down [View article]
Certainly China will be holding the bag at the end. China can try to keep the value of the USD high (I don´t think they are that dumb) but it will only help other nations dump the USD ahead of them. In this kind of game the last one to dump will get creamed.
