  • Make 70% A Year With Math [View article]
What a bunch of cynical, conspiracy-theory doubting Thomases. To the author: I appreciate this article. Convexity capture is where it's at, and anyone who doesn't know that can keep on spinning their wheels and flapping their yaps about how it doesn't/couldn't/wouldn't work.

  • Why You Must Never Ever (Ever) Invest In A Leveraged ETN For Much Longer Than A Day [View article]
It's funny to see this comment I wrote nearly two years ago. Now volatility is the ONLY thing I do. And never would touch those 3x index ones for a day (or overnight, or any term) trade again.

  • Contango Unchained: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The VIX [View article]
Thanks, "convoluted"! I'm pretty detail-oriented and maybe a little obsessive when I am interested in something (and will not accept giving up if I think there is something to be understood that I have not quite cracked), so I've spent a long time poring over charts and drawing and re-drawing them this way and that way until some patterns became clear.

You and I are two in a very small league: People who do this (and firstly - understand it, of course, and secondly - have the requisite minimal fear.) I've spoken to a number of competent, intelligent traders who either 1. Won't even listen, 2. Don't understand what I'm talking about, no matter how patiently and thoroughly I explain, and/or 3. Have rigid preconceived notions that my ideas are patently unwise. Same end result: they simply dismiss the idea out of hand. No matter - it doesn't stop me from doing what I took years to figure out, which is how to exploit the decay on these "products." (By the way, I don't work in finance, in any way, shape, or form - I'm just a cake-baking, household bill-paying mom.)

  • Today In Commodities: Still Waiting For That Correction To Materialize In Stocks [View article]
Wow, there are some seriously grumpy people here. MB didn't make your trades for you - he didn't take your arm and press the buttons for you.

On this and other recent posts before and after - it's pretty lame to blame the author for current market conditions. If you don't like his words, write your own brilliant article, instead.

The downplunger is coming and no one can put an exact date on it, but I like reading the thoughts of others, no matter what's going on or how soon or far we are from the cliff's edge.

  • Commodities: An Interim Top For Oil? [View article]
Did the Essenpee/Dow settle under that pivot point? I know how they settled; I just don't know how to find the point you mentioned. Thanks if you can supply the answer and any revised opinion.

My interest is piqued by the VIX being below the bottom complacency line. What the dickens is going on?!

Well, it's not like there was any tape-fighting to be done today, anyway.

Better to be early to the party so as not to miss out on all the food.
