  • U-Haul Skidding Out of Control? [View article]
    Mac:

I couldn't agree with you more. You stated exactly what I was thinking. I have seen an increase in the use of private storage as a direct result of the housing crisis. Many families are downsizing and unwilling, or unable, to take their possesions with them. They turn to private storage centers like those owned by U-Haul.

They take their goods to the U-Haul storage center using a U-Haul truck. When considering stocks to purchase I not only examine the financials, but also reality. Reality is that I see an awful lot of U-Haul trucks on the road everyday. They are all not disgruntled. U-Haul has brand recognition way beyond it's nearest competitors. U-Haul has a center network that outreaches it's competition and allows for drop off and pick up Nationwide and up into Canada.

I am pretty sure that they are not afraid of their competitors. The competitors should be afraid of being bought out by the, not to epand their network, but rather to sell them off.

U-Haul seems to be selling off their old fleet and steadfastly replacing them with new ones. I used them recently and had no problems what so ever. I bought one hundred shares that week.
