  • Hydrogenics Train About To Leave The Station [View article]
Hydrogenics needs to change its name! I bet a lot of potential investors think it's a water company or something to do with water. How about Renewable Energy and Storage Solutions? RESS sounds kinda neat!

  • DragonWave: After Years Of Disappointment, Big Upside Potential In 2014 [View article]
Management is technically strong but financially foolish. The graveyard is littered with such companies. They're again getting all excited over one major customer. History repeats itself. Eventually management will bankrupt the company and someone will buy it for 2 cents on the dollar. However it might be an easy short-term double.

  • Why China Buying Gold May Be Bad For Gold's Price [View article]
The author is confused. First he says that China wants enough gold to back its currency, which means increasing gold stocks from 1000 to 8000 tons over a decade. That sounds like a long term strategic goal not subject to daily whims. Then he wants me to be careful in case China starts SELLING gold. What, before it has built up its stockpile? What do you take China for, an American corporation? This is Asia, my friend: they set long term goals and follow through on them.

  • Watch Battery Manufacturers For A Trend That's Hard To Take Advantage Of [View article]
Mr. Santos, do you understand what causes the negative margins? Is it intrinsic costs that cannot be reduced, is it promotional pricing to establish market dominance, is it labor costs that could be reduced by manufacturing in Mexico or China? Without this second-order thinking I am not going to react to just "wooo, negative margins bad!"

Thanks for the link. So Kandi is being hyped by the Chinese government as opposed to the US government. So what? It's still something that cannot stand on its own three economic feet. I think the time is gone when individual investors ran blindly after anything to do with the huge Chinese market. I still think Kandi is overhyped by intentionally starry-eyed investors and writers. I'm not into speculative plays founded on the greater fool theory.

Well, have YOU considered the much. much lower fuel cost per mile when I recharge my car at home, vs. when I fill it with Arab oil at a station I have to drive to? Electric cars will happen because they will save consumers money - or they will fade away. I think the former is the safer bet. Don't give in to the temptation of living totally in the present.

I won't touch Amazon with a ten-foot pole because I have a conscience. The company operates its warehouses like mean-spirited minimum-wage sweatshops that force human beings to compete with machines. It's an evil that I want no part of. See

Kandi is an off-road vehicle maker based in China. I don't see any information on their electric car activities. Are you just trying to misuse this audience to advertise a piece of junk?

  • Sprint: Low Valuation Makes It An Enticing Acquisition Target [View article]
FYI Brian, Clearwire OWNS a nice chunk of spectrum ideal for TD-LTE that removes a lot of capacity bottlenecks. It shows amateur brinkmanship on the part of Sprint management to let Clearwire collapse. They should have capitalized on it. Indeed the way they treated CLWR tells me that they are broke as well as confused.

PS - I don't understand why you think Dish is a cable company.

  • Sprint: Low Valuation Makes It An Enticing Acquisition Target [View article]
Dish needs a mobile phone company to put up a direct media broadcasting satellite and deliver TV to handheld devices nationwide. The technology has been successfully market-tested in South Korea and Dish knows all about satellites and satellite broadcasting. Dish would also want to own Clearwire if it buys Sprint.

However, Dish likes to buy companies from bankruptcy court after creditors' claims are wiped out. It would be really stupid to assume debt if it can be eliminated. Sprint has very shaky operating financials and lacks the money to upgrade its network, plus it has bitten off more than it can chew with the desperate gamble to get the iphone at any cost. In other words, Sprint is likely to go bankrupt, and Dish knows it. They will simply wait until Sprint's amateur CEO runs it into the ground.

You STILL can't counter the substance, can you? I dare you -- I can back up every one of my points.

You're attacking my style because you can't argue with the substance.

  • Rejected By Sprint: Clearwire's 'Do Or Die' Moment [View article]
Sprint's LTE announcement basically means "we're going to hold off on LTE until we can raise mucho bucks, and we'll drop our claim on Clearwire so a big telco can buy them" - subject to Sprint's continued access to them..

The market has interpreted the announcement exactly as intended - as a new network build and not a postponement. Give Hess some credit.
