  • Short Google, Because Arrogant Behavior Has Its Limits [View article]
I think it should be ILLEGAL if the public do not have a voice (voting rights) in the public company that they own. Those two guys just want the cake (your money) and eat it too. I am not a google shareholder but could not wait for someone or institutions to come forward to file a class action lawsuit against Google.

Think about it: what if the two guys die in an accident? Who would control Google? Their survivor wives and babies? Just could not believe this.

Well. If you the shareholders do not have a say, then in effect, Google is just using your money to do business and therefore they should pay you interest.

  • Are Apple's Margin Risks Overblown? [View article]
I understand the concern of compressed margin was the reason why AAPL went from 700 to 400ish. There are tons of articles talking about this but what about Samsung, GOOG, AMZN margin when they try to sell their hardware at cost? How much money do they make, how much debts and cash they have on hands?

Can any SA author please dissect AMZN, GOOG, Samsung's margin to see why they are better than AAPL. Thank you.

  • I Invested In Microsoft But I Have More Than A Few Words For Steve Ballmer [View article]
I agreed with everything you say in this article. You are more lucky than me because you just bought MSFT shares. I bought MSFT for my son future education at $34 when my son was in highschool. My son now in grad school and MSFT at $28. So much for investing for college. I could not wait for MSFT to be back to $34 to get out. It hurts to sell at loss after over a decade. So, not only I understand everything you say. I FEEL it.

  • Should Tim Cook Ask WWJD (What Would Jobs Do)? [View article]
I think Apple had heard enough about share buyback from every direction: shareholders, fund managers, and even Warren Buffet. And that is exactly what Apple is doing. How so? By saying nothing. Their silent strategy will make share go down further to their secret target price. Then they will buy like crazy and release a new product at the same time. That is when AAPL will take off.

I just can't believe that a lot of these SA writers think they enough to tell Apple what it should do.

  • Apple Is Worth $265 [View article]
    Antonio:
In the "Apple valuation" section of your article, you tried to demonstrate that using your method, AAPL is worth only $265.80/shr.

Can you do the community a favor by using the same method to figure out how much AMZN is worth per share?

BTW, if you believe that AAPL is worth only $265, are you or are you going to short AAPL?

    Thank you.

  • Apple Is Worth $265 [View article]
The way he writes 265,8 US$ for $265.80 tells me he does not come from the U.S., hence all the grammatical errors. Like you, I can't stand the people who can't write, and they try to sell their idea/opinion.

  • 3 Things Apple Must Do To Regain Its Dominance [View article]
I don't see value in stock splits. This is the thing of the past. Microsoft looks bad and cheap because it is in the 20s. APPL in the tens will look cheap next to its competitor GOOG in the 700s. The higher the price, the lower the chance of manipulation by day trader. I want my APPL to stay in the hundreds. When it reaches 1000, may be a 2-1 split to bring it down to 500.

The cumulative dividend for 2013 does not seem to add up. Did i misunderstand it? one of the "prince" should be "price". other than that I like your article, very straightforward and easy to understand. What is the basis you use in forecasting earning? Thank you for the analysis.

  • Ignore The Noise: 3 More Reasons Apple Might Beat Estimates [View article]
The title of your article (Ignore the noise: 3 more reasons Apple might beat estimates) suggests that you are bullish on AAPL but the conclusion (Just because AAPL is cheap today doesn't necessarily mean it won't get even cheaper first.) sounds bearish. I am confused after reading your article.

  • Catch The Turn In Apple [View article]
That's true. When you gain, the IRS does not care when you bought, sold and rebought. You pay tax on the gain. Period.

Well, but when you encounter capital loss, they do care - for them, not for you. If you sell XYZ at a loss of $100 today and you buy XYZ again within 30 days (re-entering a postion), the IRS will classify your sale as "wash sale". You will not be able to claim your $100 loss until you sell the XYZ you bought the second time. The IRS just wants to delay your loss deduction. If you do this around December 2012, you may not be able to claim your loss until you file your 2013 tax refund in 2014. And that is exactly what the IRS wants. They want you to pay tax TODAY.

    Been there, seen that.

  • Is A Chance To Buy Apple At $400 Coming Soon? [View article]
I can bet you the farm that AAPL will not split. If GOOG can remain in the 600 range, so can AAPL. Splitting does not change the stock fundamental but makes it look cheap and increase volatility and manipulation as more day traders can come on board. Look at MSFT, a big company with stock in the mid 20. Looks so bad. That's why it remains there for the last decade because not many people want it.

In early September I heard from TDAmeritrade that mini options are coming. If AAPL does not split but available in mini options, that would be the happy medium.

  • Apple: Value Play Or Value Trap? [View article]
Is there a way to find out who is making all these noises? Are they hedge funds who did that so they can sell and buy back at a lower cost? Is that legal?

Because AAPL is perceived at this point as "slower growth", we have to go at length to justify PE 12-13. What is the heck with AMZN which is perceived as "growth" but gives investor $0.08 EPS and PE 3015?

At PE of 12, AMZN would be worth $0.96/shr. Yes. Less than a dollar. Not $253ish. Why no analysts seem to care, no one dares to predict the death of AMZN but they find many reasons to attack APPL?
