  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
This wasn't directed at anyone in particular. Just gets a little frustrating sometimes. Not going to bother with people here anymore.

Tea party nut cases gather here quite often. Who needs science anyway, right?

  • Got Mega Millions? Buy Real Estate And Not Stocks, Bonds Or Gold [View article]
I believe most rich people made their money from real estate. Bill Gates founded a company, he did not make his money from investing in equities.

  • An Even Better Dividend Growth ETF Portfolio [View article]
Doubt the author knows what a mortgage REIT is. There is no dividend growth to be had with MORT but plenty of risk. VERY inappropriate to recommend this to individual investors.

  • Apple's Italian Tax Woes Are Just The Tip Of The Iceberg [View article]
What is insane about expecting companies to pay taxes on their earnings? What is insane is that the global monopoly like conglomerates pay almost no taxes due to their tax avoidance schemes. They should be fined and jailed for tax evasion.

  • White House not satisfied with GOP debt ceiling offer [View news story]
Obama has always compromised. This debacle is simply an attempt at extortion. Raising the debt ceiling is not negotiable. Congress approves the budget which results in annual deficits. If Republicans don't want to raise the debt ceiling then they need to raise taxes instead.

  • Can Demography Explain Portugal's Growth Slump Before The Crash? [View article]
Always enjoy reading your articles Edward.

I agree with Pompano's comment. Economic growth is not always prioritized. Politicians usually get in the way with inneficient laws. I believe in southern Europe's bureacracy is a killer rather more so than taxes.

China shows how quickly an economy can change once politicians enable an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.

  • Vodafone's Future Without Verizon Wireless [View article]
Verizon has only paid dividends from Verizon Wireless to the parent companies (Verizon and Vodaphone) on two occasions I believe. VOD used part of the income from Verizon Wireless to pay a special dividend but it is not relying on it to fund their current dividend payments.

  • Why National Grid's 5.6% Yield Isn't Worth The Risk [View article]
Coal is extremely dirty and not an energy source we should promote. Your reply is simply a bunch of made up ideas. This of course is pretty much in line with what you might hear on FOX news so it is not surprising. Who cares about science and facts when you can simply make up whatever suits your agenda.

Good to see that you are non-partisan and that this article is clearly non-politically motivated...

Thanks you say to such a crazy whack job of a reply? You clearly are politically motivated. Too many articles here of that kind.

  • Why National Grid's 5.6% Yield Isn't Worth The Risk [View article]
The US will do the right thing but only after everyone else. Germany is doing the right thing and will be energy independent without the need of hazardous fracking. Germany is organized and wise, the US is the opposite.

  • Annaly Capital: Is It Time To Abandon Ship? [View article]
Why do people want more than 20-30 stocks? Might as well be indexing if one is holding 50-100 stocks.

  • Is It Time To Take Some Chips Off The Table? [View article]
Leveraged ETFs only work as short term trades. Over longer horizons they don't work well.
