  • Research Report On Wine Industry In China, 2014-2018

Research Report on Wine Industry in China, 2014-2018

The production volume of wine was 1,178.3 million liters in China in 2013, down by 14.7% YOY. It fell in 2013 as cases of making and selling hedge wine happened in Hebei in 2010 reduced the consumption. On the other hand, the new government took measures to control expenditure on official business, which to a degree reduced the consumption of wine.
The total import volume of wine was 376 million liters in 2013, which was 4.46% lower than 2012. The total import value was approximately USD 1.56 billion, down by 1.64% YOY. The import volume of bulk wine (> 2 liters) was 89 million liters, down by 26.75% YOY. The import value was approximately USD 108 million, down by 25.12% YOY. The import volume of bottled wine (2 liters) was 287 million liters, up by 5.47% YOY. The import value was USD 1.45 billion, up by 0.7% YOY. Based on the statistics, bottled wine was the leading product, accounting for 76.3% of the total import volume and 93.1% of the total import value. As the global consumption and production volume of bulk wine decline, the import volume of bulk wine is estimated to continue the downward trend in China in 2014. People may acquire the consumption habit of imported wine and deeper understanding of wine as the middle-class population increases. The import volume of bottled wine is expected to grow in 2014.
Consequently, the individual consumption of wine will exceed that of public affairs and business banquets. To succeed in China, the varieties and prices of wine products should meet the demand of common people with high consumption potential.
The wine industry in China benefits from increase in resident income, change of lifestyles and consumption concept driven by economic development. As health concern increases, the diversity of catering business stimulates the consumption of wine in China, which is prospering.
The consumption per capita of wine was approximately 1.1 liters in China in 2013, which was far below the level of developed countries and the global average level (annual consumption per capita of 4 liters). The growth rate of GDP was 7.7% in China in 2013, much higher than the global average level (3.2%). China will remain one of the fastest growing economies in the coming years. For global manufacturers and distributors of wine, China is one of the most important markets in the world.

  • Research Report On Boiler Industry In China, 2014-2018

Research Report on Boiler Industry in China, 2014-2018

Coal is the major fuel in industry and people's daily life in China. Most coal used in industrial boilers is unwashed raw coal with high content of ash and sulphur, and large granularity, which leads to low combustion efficiency and high emission volume of pollutants. According to statistics, 45%-65% of air pollution in cities is generated by the raw coal. Therefore, the most rapid and effective method to solve air pollution is to replace coal with gas.

In early 1980s, to improve residents' life and alleviate environment pollution, many commercial gas projects were launched by local governments to raise the popularity of gas in cities, which remarkably promoted the production and development of gas fired boilers. However, the technology upgrading and market promotion of gas fired boilers stagnated after 1990s because of the high cost of gas and the sluggish construction of gas pipe network. Additionally, most industrial boilers used coal instead of gas as the fuel.

Gas fired boilers develop rapidly as the gas pipe network is improved and the mining and marketing of domestic gas accelerate in the 21st century. Recently, as environment pollution deteriorates, Chinese government manages to restrain the use of coal fired boilers while enterprises are subsidized by local governments to finish the transformation from coal to gas. Market shares of coal fired boilers are rapidly occupied by gas fired boilers in China.

The transformation from a single coal-fired machine into a gas-fired one without government subsidies is not economical. However, it is operational to integrate several coal-fired machines into a set of gas-fired machinery with centralized power and heat supply.

It is expected that the denitration projects in key areas will be established in China by the end of 2014. With industrial emission as the next focus, Chinese government issues a series of measures to control the emission of industrial pollutants, including Major Projects in the Twelfth Five-Year (2011-2015) Plan for Air Pollution Prevention in Key Areas, Recommendations on Accelerating the Development of Energy-saving and Environment-Friendly Industries, and Emission Standards for Air Pollutants of Boilers (Draft). Meanwhile, local governments adopt active measures to control industrial emission, including the popular projects like "transformation from coal to natural gas" and "transformation from coal to electricity".

Major customers of commercial gas-fired boilers are high-end hotels, major government agencies, hospitals, large-scale retailers, office buildings and high-end residential areas. The market exhibits huge potential for growth as the business expands into industrial fields and ordinary residential areas in China.

Huge market potential for gas fired boilers exists in cities on the West-East Gas Pipeline and the imported natural gas pipeline, and coastal cities capable of importing liquid gas.

As an eco-friendly product, gas fired boiler will gain remarkable development due to the supportive policies of Chinese government. It is anticipated that gas fired boilers will become the mainstream products in Chinese boiler market in the coming years.

Through this Research Report on Boiler Industry in China, 2014-2018, the readers can acquire the following information:
-Supply and Demand Status of Industrial Boilers in China

  • Research Report On Cold Chain Logistics Industry In China, 2014-2018

Research Report on Cold Chain Logistics Industry in China, 2014-2018

Cold chain logistics refers to the temperature-controlled system with an uninterrupted series of storage and distribution activities which maintain a given temperature range. It is used to help extend and ensure the shelf life of products such as fresh agricultural produce, seafood, frozen food, photographic film, chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs.
Primary agricultural produce such as fruit and vegetables rots easily, which increases the operational cost of fresh food retailers, such as supermarkets and stores. The shelf life of products can be more than doubled in a cold chain logistics system that functions well. The loss of fresh food retailers will decrease by 30%-50% if the shelf life of perishable food like fruit and vegetables is prolonged from 1 day to 3 days.
Food spoilage is the major cause of food safety issues and waste of resources. Increasing concern about food safety stimulates the development of cold chain logistics, especially for meat, fruit, vegetables, aquatic products and dairy products. Demand for the cold chain logistics in transport of vegetables, fruit, meat and other processed products increases as Chinese people's life improves.
In 2013, the production volume of meat exceeded 80 million tons while that of vegetables surpassed 0.7 billion tons. The production volume of fruit, dairy products and aquatic products exceeded 0.15 billion tons, 20 million tons and 60 million tons respectively. In addition, a large volume of meat products and frozen food is produced in China. The temperature fluctuation in refrigerated transport is one of the major reasons for the decline in food quality. Cold chain logistics can keep perishable food fresh in transport.
By the end of 2013, the total capacity of cold storages barely reached 20 million cubic meters with less than 40,000 refrigerated vans, far behind developed countries and certain developing countries like India in consideration of the large population.
As a high-end sub-industry of the logistics industry, cold chain logistics will attract much investment in the coming years. The e-commerce enterprises of fresh food spring up as e-commerce develops in China, which remarkably promotes the development of cold chain logistics. The year of 2013 was an important year in the development of fresh food e-commence in China. Several e-commence enterprises set foot in the fresh food field, including certain large-scale e-commerce enterprises like Tmall, JD and Amazon, certain logistics enterprises such as SFbest from SFExpress, and several professional e-commence enterprises for fresh food like Shanghai Yiguo E-commerce Co., Ltd. and TooToo Farm. According to CRI, the market size of fresh food e-commerce was approximately CNY 40-50 billion in China in 2013. The CAGR is estimated to exceed 100% in 2014-2018.
Few e-commerce enterprises of fresh food directly invest in equipment of cold chain logistics due to the high cost. However, rapid growth of the market stimulates the development of the distribution network of cold chain logistics. The home delivery service of e-commerce enterprises like JD and Tmall mostly depends on third-party enterprises of cold chain logistics due to lack mature storage and logistics distribution system. However, the trend for e-commerce enterprises is to establish self-operating cold chain logistics.
Cold chain logistics encompasses home delivery and the main line. The home delivery belongs to express delivery and less-than-truck-load logistics while the main line is related to management of assets supply chain and third-party logistics. The complexity of cold chain logistics results in high entry criteria of the industry. However, cold chain logistics will become the most popular sub-industry in logistics field in 2014-2018 due to the increasing demand and development potential.
The cold chain logistics industry is expected to develop rapidly as demand for commodities like food, medicine and cosmetics increases in China.
