I agree with Alan, housing is only one part of the puzzle. With all the downsizing I'm sure there's going to be less of a demand for office space driving rent down and in turn REITS

Has Gold Been Manipulated?

One could argue that the Gold price is "unnaturally" high. Platinum is far rarer than gold, has more useful properties than gold and shares gold traits of: being impervious to the element and malleable, yet is trading close to the price of gold (+- gold to platinum ratio is .8. The historic ratio has been about .5). So if the basic law of supply and demand is true and the supply of platinum is much less than gold, must be there is a strong demand for gold out there. So some one is buying a lot of gold, Perhaps China, with its billions of Reserve U.S. dollars, is the culprit ,buying up tons of gold to cover it's huge positions in US treasuries. I that manipulation or merely investing to gain/or hedge profit.
