What do airline passengers and hospital patients have in common? Everyone in the same class gets the same service but what they pay is vastly different. A lab test gets billed for $40. The lab's contract with my insurance says they only get $10. Insurance pays $8 and I pay $2. If you have no insurance, you pay the full $40. So what you are billed is probably inversely proportional to what you can pay.

If they are sold out through 2011, can they raise the price on those orders? I suspect that either they can't or the buyers have the option of backing out of the order. Too much price increase and too much slowdown could cause a lot of those orders to evaporate

Duh.. If the GDP doesn't go negative then how can it be a recession?
This chart proves the feds are cutting rates which we already new. It would have been nice to see this spread over a wider timescale. Maybe 10 years or so.

Nitrogen fertilizer products have to be manufactured. This is usually done using natural gas so there are increasing costs in production.
Sales are mostly in North America and thus can be more seasonal than other fertilizer plays
