  • Bernie Madoff Comes Out of the Closet [View article]
Another good reason to continually learn as much as possible about investing, open a discount brokerage account and handle your own money.
Nobody, I mean NOBODY, cares about your money more than you. Get educated and handle it yourself. It is not nearly as hard as the "so-called" financial experts say.

Please don't let the Fed know that these 4 companies are dying. We have had enough bailouts for my lifetime.

  • Bank of America May Have to Cut Dividend [View article]
All the BAC mistakes are coming home. Buying that dog Countrywide was stupid. BAC could have just waited and picked up the loan servicing dept. for next to nothing. But, no. They paying $50B for Merrill Lynch. Now that was really dumb, too. Overpaying for a brokerage firm that was going down. Could have picked up Merrill's pieces for next to nothing, too. How much longer with shareholders allow BAC management to remain in charge?

  • 3 Dividend Aristocrats in Danger of Losing Their Status [View article]
No bank that took TARP money should be paying any dividends. Actually, this bailout madness is going pretty much as I figured. It is a huge mess that didn't need to be created. Giving out tax payer money is a sure way to get all the losers to come begging with tin cups.

  • GMAC: Who's in Charge? [View article]
Presto. GMAC is a bank. Gaming the system to get tay payer bailout money is sick. I predicted this nonsense when the bailout madness started. Every joker was going to try to get their tin cup filled with money.

  • Don't Be Scammed by Madoff Investor Sob Stories [View article]
A fool and his money will so be parted. I read a story about a 66-year-old guy who gave all his money to Madoff. Pretty stupid. The fool only had about $1,000.00 in his checking account. Everything else was taken by Madoff. Now that is flat crazy.

  • The Hedge Fund Business Is Finished and Bernie Madoff Is Sealing the Deal [View article]
The 20% of profit and 2% management fee hedge funds took was insane. I have never understood why anyone would invest money in a hedge fund with those fees. You can easily open a discount brokerage account and run your own hedge fund with dozens of investments products available to anyone. Why give your money to some guy who lives in Greenwich, CT, in a mega mansion?

  • A Look Inside the Foreclosure Rescue Plan [View article]
This latest bailout plan will not work. What will work? Foreclose and sell the property a auction to the highest bidder. The sooner this is done, the sooner the mess will be fixed.

  • The Dr. Doom Space Is Getting Crowded [View article]
Didn't that Harry Dent guy write a book at the top of the internet bubble that the Dow was going to 36,000 from there? Now he is gloom and doom after the Dow has a horrible year? Seems Dent is a band wagon investor, who tries to make money by selling books during the boom or doom.

  • Ben Stein Watch: December 28, 2008 [View article]
Having listened and watched Stein on TV for many years commenting on investing, I have come to the conclusion that he is no better or worse than any other media talking head that gets too much air time.

Starbucks was the consumption generation leader. That daily $4.00 cup of coffee went with the leased SUV, designer handbags, silicon implants, liposuction, plastic surgery, 4,000 square foot houses, zero down payment pay option ARM loans and lots of revolving credit card debt.
