Agreed. Green energy is a great idea, but it will take quite awhile to make it feasible. There is a lot we can do with existing fossil fuels right now to make them considerably cleaner, unfortunately it’s just not the sexy thing to do right now.

  • Goldman's Hubris [View article]
I work in high finance, and if I had an opportunity like GS had I would take it to. If you don't like how it played out demand change through voting.

  • Goldman's Hubris [View article]
If GS was able to convince the government that they needed 100 cents/dollar on the CDS contracts, and the government was dumb enough to give it to them, and the US is dumb enough to keep re-electing fiscally irresponsible politicians, then good for GS. They say a situation to make a ton of money and exploited it.

Agreed. Regardless of what you think of GS, this is just getting old now.

I'm always surprised about how much hate for GS there is.

  • Vanity Fair's 8,000-word profile of the Vampire Squid: "One of the biggest disconnects on Wall Street today is between the way Goldman Sachs (GS) sees itself (they're the smartest) and the way everyone else sees Goldman (they're the smartest, greediest, and most dangerous)."  [View news story]
Agreed. Regardless of what you think of GS, this is just getting old now.

  • Healthcare Reform: Two Extremes, Neither Focusing on Health [View article]
    Spot on!

The most intelligent piece on healthcare policy/reform that I have read to date. Unfortunately very few people will agree with this, to many just want something for nothing.

Good article. Finally someone who sees this for what it really is and doesn’t think there is a massive conspiracy, like so many others on SA lately.

  • No One Saw This Economic Crisis Coming? [View article]
Who cares who saw it coming. If you personally saw it coming, or agreed with other people’s predictions, you should position yourself to make a ton of money off of it. Isn’t that really what capitalism is at it finest?

I doubt the feds would let Citi go belly up, I really don’t see C going anywhere for quite awhile. I bought a few shares in the 3.00 range just for a fun bet though.

Great idea, but that would just be to simple and make to much sense for the government.
