  • The Sprott Physical Silver Trust (PSLV) falls 2.6% premarket after announcing yet another secondary offering. If there is a shortage of silver, asks Kid Dynamite, why didn't the price of the metal tick up on the announcement a big player is about to buy several hundred million dollars worth? [View news story]

Indianamark- I always read your comments and have pretty much agreed with you on your thoughts on the market for both Gold and Silver. I agree with you that an upleg is certainly on the way for G/S, but I would like to see just one more small pullback a bit so I can stack some more physical, simply for the greed's sake of it all. But your last paragraph is what stuck out to me the most. I was trying to follow along a line chart to see how many times a raid/test was acted upon recently and was shocked to see NINETY FIVE attempts. Just last week we saw it took 62.5 million paper ounces to move the needle .60 on silver- Twice the US annual production. First this is ridiculous that it takes that much to just move it .60, I think that lays it out pretty clearly that the cartel is slowly losing its grip. Maybe, just maybe we are nearing the point where all the charades stop, that would be absolutely splendid and would thrill just about every PHYSICAL owner like everyday was Christmas! And just for the heck of it- Bart Chilton, DO YOUR JOB!

  • An unmistakable trend is under way as investors cash in their bond ETF holdings and pour the money into stock funds. "A lot of fixed-income oriented people have decided to start chasing equities," says an ETF trader, as they fear being left behind by an equity market juggernaut (they already have been). Also seeing a rush are precious metals ETFs - the physical and the miners. [View news story]
I can side with this poster. I am a freight broker, and truckers are slowing down and being more diligent with which loads they take because of what is going on with the market/where fuel prices are at en route and at the destination. Also with manufacturing slowing in the US there are a lot less loads available so in turn they are paying less and less. The end game is nearing unfortunately. It will pay off to be prepped. I hold Physical(Au,Ag)/food/w...

If you don't hold it, you don't own it. That's the only problem I see. And that's a BIG problem.

I stay in physical 99% of the time, and it truly infuriates me when JPM smacks down the market, but on Tuesday and Friday for a short 15 minute interval on each day DSLV made me enough fiat to buy 7 ounces of physical today. When you're in it for the fiat, just to use the fiat to get more physical I don't see a problem in utilizing a leveraged ETF- USLV or DSLV depending on which way we are headed.

Holy good god Scottsdale is way over spot! I agree with everyone, screw the SLV and GLD, its time to get physical, but you want to pay as close to spot as possible. As someone above stated, your local coin shop is best. My local coin shop only charges 50 cents per ounce over spot for silver and 3% over spot for gold. STAY LOCAL, GET PHYSICAL, DUMP FIAT!

I will be in a bear 2x etf for two weeks, give or take a few days during the pullback, once the correction is over, time to start stacking again as the price is going up. Just my .02 :)

mubirasymbu, I think this is the first time we have agreed on this whole chain of comments. What was done today is sickening.

fyiadvisor- I completely agree with you as well. Im 27 now and can't even fathom where we will be when I'm 45. I feel awful for my grandparents and my sister in law that just had a beautiful baby boy 3 months ago. Their foundations have been completely altered if not completely wiped out.

Now not to be a jerk, I play with the SLV and GLD and it sure was nice to get a free couple of shares of GLD and a bunch of SLV, and I would be lying if I didn't say I was smiling ear to ear while watching Uncle Ben this morning (I'm on the west coast) thinking about my physical gaining or at least increasing in value against the fiat dollar,

On a side note, A BIG THANK YOU to all of the contributors on this article. Even though the author was wayyyy off, you all have made this article what it is. Open conversations, true feelings, shared values and opinions. Its been great to be a part of. Thanks to you all.

Ananthan, sorry it didn't work out for you, hope you didn't go short.

Last side note- I promise. I have always pondered, just because the value per ounce has gone up splendidly since this article was written, does that even mater? At what point will inflation outweigh realized gains in the physical?

Like I said "With my CURRENT holding at the CURRENT valuations"- I'm not betting on the farm with anything, If he does happen to announce something, all Im saying is it would be nice. I've already enjoyed the run up, but if we get anymore, that would just be icing on the cake. Regarding confiscation, they would have to go on a metal detector hunt as I wouldn't be turning in one piece and only I know where my holdings are. Good luck on that confiscation :)
