What have you done for me lately? I would rather follow someone in tune with a companies prospects NOW. Everyone can point to some wins in the past.

I can't believe a contributor, of all people, said this. Here's another penny.

Luxury is form and function but these devices are only form. That means plenty of people that can afford anything still carry iPhones.

Thanks! Best companies at what they do (AMZN, NKE, AAPL. GOOG, WFM, IMAX, MSFT, INTC, etc.) held over an investing lifetime works very well indeed.

  • Amazon Earnings: A Sneak Peek [View article]
"Amazon has performed extremely well as an investment for the long-term, as the trend of internet shopping continues to grab hold of new demographics every year."

The smart money knows this and continues to hold for the long term. Fidelity, T Rowe Price and the like still hold all their shares. Holding AMZN since the 1990s is one of the reasons I retired very early.

It seems you are quite concerned about my portfolio holdings. I do not know how to say this more clearly so I will just repeat it -

Your conclusion is TOTALLY WORTH REPEATING -

"Amazon has decades of growth in front of it. The secular growth of the e-commerce market, both in the US and internationally, coupled with the investments it is making to gain share, will hold it in good stead for years to come. If there is a stock to own for the long term, Amazon is it. Don't let the seemingly lofty valuations fool you - Jeff Bezos knows what he's doing."

  • Amazon 1Q14 Earnings Preview: Does Pricing Power Exist? [View article]
"The problem is, the lower the prices the less chance any company stands in making a profit and the higher the prices the less chance any company stands in making a sale.."

Fixed that for you. If it were true which it is not. I leave you to your confusion now.

No need to click links. last time - prices change constantly sometimes within the same day to remain competitive. This is well documented when you do the research.
