End of an Era for Japanese FX Leverage?

A lot of Japanese` principle + life savings got wiped out on this last rout of the JPY when the carry trade unwound suddenly, esp on AUD and NZD.

I would be interested to know what the standard in retail market FX leverage is for other major countries to understand global comparisons. Even 25x seems quite dangerous for the retail market... can generally only get 2-3x for margin trading equities in Japan.

Japan Is Raising Its Risk Profile

Yen is strong because Japan has something better than goods... cash.

A little risk taking by this extremely risk averse country generally pays off in leaps and bounds.
