The CFPB Is Not Armageddon, So Buy These Stocks [View article]
Used to hold EZCorp. Sold in Nov and haven't followed since. But overall I found the stock suffers from poor corporate governance and increasing expenses have been suspicious. I did not like the conf call at all.

"Ignore for the moment...." Market sure hasn't. Low valuation most likely already prices in 'reality'. Longs (like myself) made a killing entering at $16-20. Shorting a stock on the way up (like you did in Oct) is the sure way to the poor house. Keep that in mind in the future.

I started looking at PWER a few weeks ago because of the low valuation. My conclusion was: If subsidies are being eliminated in Europe then it looks like the affect is not known. S&P predict 37 cent in 2013 and 44 cents in 2014 and rate it a sell. Considering the balance sheet I wouldn't mind a 40 cent consistent EPS, however I'm not sure margins are stable. (With yty's announcement, looks like I was right...)
Secondly, I notice that shares outstanding have increased by 20% http://bit.ly/11eMXNs
With so much cash on balance sheet, why have shares increased...?

So sick of Buffet this and Buffet that... Buy good companies low, sell them high. Ok. get it. Also, value strategies work. Yeah... knew that too... thank you very much. Anything else? My portfolio gained 22% in last 5 months. Anyone want to write a book about me? Don't bother. Just another value strategy that... what? works? yeah... we knew that already.

Shorting MSFT is plain... unwise.
I own both Apple and Windows products. I installed Win 8 on my new laptop. It is absolutely revolutionary. I happened to see the ipad mini after playing with my new Win 8. The mini looked like a toy in comparison.
Where MSFT screwed up is in marketing and providing help to new users. The operating system itself should have had several videos explaining new stuff to the user. In the beginning I was lost and angry.
After a few days, I have to say it is a pleasant surprise and a new direction that could change everything.
Buffett Agrees - Doing Nothing Is The Path To Investment Success [View article]
People need to stop considering Buffett a god. Did Berkshire buy INTC or not? Yes, it did. Full-stop. No need to discuss any further. Last time I checked, Buffet was still in charge of the company. Furthermore, if you are expecting Buffett to help you then good luck. Simply because: a) Buffett will miss out on the greatest investment opportunities simply because his size no longer allows him to buy small companies, b) Most of his buying occurs during market crisis (can you sit around and wait that long? don't think so), c) When he does do his buying, you don't have the cash to follow him.
Excellent article. You have to buy INTC now while it's cheap. Yes, I'm taking my book (bought at 21 and change) but what do you think the downside is on INTC? 4.5% div yield? That's $20.
I also agree on the tablet area. Most tablets are crap and most are just for fun (browsing, videos, etc). Ipads will take a share in some areas, however what will happen is the PCs killing the tablets.
I bought a Thinkpad x230 tablet. Yes, it has less batt life and is heavier, but I found it to be the best thing since sliced bread. I have a full computer with the best keyboard in the market and with a flip I have a tablet. Its not as smooth as an ipad but I'm still on Win 7. The biggest thing: I got computing power.
MSFT is also looking good, however would have preferred it a few bucks lower.
