  • Lululemon Poised To Pop After Ironing Out Pants Issue [View article]
I think if the CEO had someone lined up, it wouldn't have hit the stock this hard. 17% is a big knee-jerk. Good luck. I'll let it fall a bit more before I cover my shorts. I have visited the lulu store and I see why it's popular. Looks good.

She did, but who could've predicted the CEO retiring in her early 50s.

  • Lululemon Poised To Pop After Ironing Out Pants Issue [View article]
I had a short on LULU since it hit $80. I did it because of the high P/E ratio and the competition from GPS (Athleta). I was however wrong with my research. LULU's earnings were great. I should've been crushed today, but I got lucky with the CEO announcing retirement. Can't be proud, but will take my winnings

  • More on Sears Holdings' (SHLD) Q1 results: Domestic comparable store sales fell 3.6%, comprised of decreases of 4.6% at Kmart and 2.4% at Sears U.S., blamed on weather related declines in lawn and garden; excluding that category, comp store sales would have gained 0.3%. Online business rose 20% Y/Y. Says it may put its service agreement business up for sale to raise cash. Shares -13% AH. [View news story]
Unless you bought SHLD in the last month, you are still in profits. Take it and go.

  • Yahoo (YHOO) is in "serious talks" to buy social blogging service Tumblr for as much as $1B, multiple sources tell AdWeek. Kara Swisher also reports talks are happening, but is more circumspect, stating they could result in a partnership, investment, acquisition, or nothing at all. Tumblr, which claims 100M+ blogs and (as of Nov.) ~170M monthly visitors (up over 3x from Jan.), would give Yahoo a big source of user-generated content to integrate and monetize, and would strengthen its mobile presence. It would also (as Swisher notes) mesh with Yahoo's efforts to win back younger Web users. [View news story]
This is an awful idea for Tumblr users. Remember what they did to Flickr?

  • ZAGG Inc Reports Financial Results for First Quarter 2013 [View article]
Ouch, What a bad earnings report. I guess there were no new hot handheld products in Q1 so no one bought Zagg to protect it.

  • Facebook's Current Price Is Unsustainable [View article]
I feel Facebook has tried everything they can for Q1. They aggressively pushed advertising in every users news feed. They made it easy for advertisers to "sponsor" their posts. They made it so users can buy "gifts" for their friends easily. and their earnings were great from doing all of it.

Currently with their new announcements like Facebook Home, Chat Heads, New Search, I don't see it bringing in more income. I like that Mark is making it easier for people to socialize and connect, but the current direction doesn't seem so promising to shareholders.

I would NOT expect a continued growth in revenue that sustains the high PE. Makes it a good short candidate

Yes, there are others. Advertising is majority of Facebook's income if you look at their financial reports.

  • QE4 On The DL - Fed Tries To Offset Fiscal Cliff Shenanigans [View article]
Am I understanding this correctly? There is currently $1.16T in circulation. Quantitative Easing is just printing cash and QE4 is to print an extra $80b/month. If we do this every month for 2013, (I'm not sure how it's $4T as stated in the article), but it's definitely almost doubling the amount of dollars in circulation. If commodities are hedging the dollar, shouldn't gold be skyrocketing with this news? It's hovering around the same area since mid 2011.

  • Yelp (YELP -4.6%) is selling off ahead of tomorrow's lockup expiration; shares have now mostly given back Friday's gains, and are down 29% from their Aug. 10 close. 52.7M shares will become eligible for sale tomorrow - by comparison, only 7.15M shares were sold in Yelp's IPO. VC investors hold large stakes in the company, as do chairman Max Levchin and CEO Jeremy Stoppelman. [View news story]
Remember what people said about Facebook before the day their lockup expired. Some people were saying it's already priced in. There is no "priced in" for lockup expiration. It means shares can now be sold and selling at any price means the share price will fall. That said, Yelp I think has a great future, I'd just wait until the 52.7m shares take some off the table.
