I don't disagree with Ciera however, my point is I do not expect STX to acquire OCZ with a hand shake but a forensic OCZ financial review will make a deal very possible.

I don't disagree with you. However, STX is going after OCZ for its technologies and future growth. Past earnings is less relevance. I can understand the question of liabilities and leverage during negotiations. It's currently a $1.69 stock not $4.00

a forensic review of ocz finance will minimize the risk greatly. Public companies acquired small private companies with no public financial reporting all the time. If they wait for compliance, the cost to acquire ocz would be much higher. That's my 2cents

  • OCZ (OCZ +3.1%) spikes after TheDeal reports the company may be up for sale. Rumors of Seagate/OCZ buyout talks have popped up a couple of times, but have also been refuted. The recent Western Digital/sTec and SanDisk/SMART Storage deals have led to fresh speculation Seagate or another firm might target OCZ. [View news story]
Multiple sources confirmed this speculation. I hope they won't sell this company so cheap.

  • OCZ (OCZ +3.3%) rallies for the second time in two weeks in response to news a fellow enterprise SSD vendor is being acquired. Last week, the trigger was Western Digital's purchase of sTec. Today, it's SanDisk's purchase of SMART Storage. Though OCZ sells enterprise drives, the company is more dependent on consumer SSD sales than either of the acquisition targets. Fusion-io (FIO -2.1%), which joined OCZ in rallying last time around, is selling off. [View news story]
Lenovo Computers is also interested. Their technical folks were there at the OCZ headquarter very recently. But at the end of the day, I think STX will acquires OCZ cheaply

When announcing White's resignation as CMO last month, Fusion-io stated both White and outgoing CEO David Flynn would remain board members, and would also "serve in advisory roles" for 12 months. [View news story]
