interesting story, my take is that two things happened after the peak of sept. one spec traders have sold out, and shorts have made a killing and moving on to their next target.....that said what is left is a decent company undervalued, in 6 months if the spec traders and shorts stay away APPL will rebound to a more fairly valued price

look Apple fell from 600 to 500 on what the talking heads now claim is the reason it dropped after earnings posted, what the talking heads either don;t want to admitt or are totally clueless is this stock is being manipulated by traders/ big money which continues to turn off the true investors left in the market.....The stock market has loss billions of investor dollars for ever, never to return to stocks by this manipulations, by the Ackmans of the industry....and it will continue to drive more and more away where the market will be left with thin trading between traders.......

I disagree investors are tired, it is big money trades playing this stock along with shorters, many investors have been driven away from the markets years ago by the manipulation that goes on, never to return, and this manipulation of Apple will drive more away. why can't it have two price points like Samsung does? because it's apple? it is this attitude that is costing it market share , management woke up to that fact in will come out with a low price point phone taking the fight right back at Samsung....I see it as success not failure to do so. nor do I see it killing the China market as Samsung is grabbing the low price point market there and if apple is a status symbol the low point would be also as it is still an apple.....I don't think apple TV is the route to go, buying out a home security company in which people can control many things with their I phone is a better and more useful route......

that is all share holders agree to sell. also right now this stock is getting beat up by shorts reaping huge profits, if people took their shares off the market would force a short squeze. as for those claim the 10% is justified and the reasons they laid out, all that was already priced into the stock when it went from 600 to 500, we all knew sales would be light back in Nov. becuase Apple was cutting supply orders going into the hoilday season, yet did anyone stop to think the cut backs were more due to the Iphone 5s coming out this summer, will we beseeing a new redesign? no they fled the stock after being scared by the looudmouth shorts out there. You do realize Apple now has enough cash on hand to buy out a Comcast which is already over valued at 18 times earnings. Apple TV might just be real, but I will not hold my breath on that. but think a comcast buy out not only gives it TV access but also home security stem all run on your I phone, it could bypass Comcast and go for ADT security alsosetting up your I phone controling not just an alarm system but your lights, music and many other appliances in your home......The shorts are raking in boo koo buck cause they shout louder than anyone else and Apple remains silent as to what it plans are down the road, it has the cash to take the smart phone to the next level so what are they waiting for? could it be resolving Samsung stealing it patents? time will tell sadly shorts will continue to win as long as people sell at these low undervalued prices. Me if someone wants my shares of APPL it is going to cost them a minium of 550 a share and not a penny less.....

I have to agree shorts have done a good job at driving this stock down to it now sells for less the 10 times earnings(ttm) and around 8 times forward earnings, it deserves to be trading around 12 times to 15 times like it's peers

while most GE shareholders do not expect to see GE double in price, your headline is equally misleading , I would think most GE shareholders were indeed imprerssed with the 12% div hike with some thinking we just might see a second hike in 2013, me I am happy with the 12% for now and see a slight upside in price in 2013 that is if washington gets its act together otherwise all bets are off.....

rates will be stuck in the current trading range ntil the FED steps back and lets the markets work, then we will see rates rise and prices drop, this will not happen until the economy is on more dolid footing
not sure they are that great I use to use them, but their on;line system is diffcult to use and limit on transactions, add to the fact that smaller money senders exchange rates beat WU every time along with the lower fees makes more sense to use the smaller players who send money to most banks world wide, only thing they are good for is those that need money orders but the US Post office is competive in that area, just think most people don;t realize it.

Brad while I have liked the REIT's one needs to be careful as the div was taxed at 15% and could once again be taxed as normal income causing people to dump them
I think your 19 target is not realistic , I don't see it dropping even to 20, at best you might see 20.50, which I think is soild support for GE, I believe 21 will support unless the whole market drops 5% from current levels than the 20.50 is obtainable

buy and hold is not a best way to invest, being long term investor does not mean you buy a stock then sit on it, when the crash of 08 started I started selling out all my position, yeah I took some loses, but I sat and waite duntil March of 09 when I bought GE for around 8.00 and held it until 21.90 and sold all but my divs after all it was free money after taxes, I recently bought a small stake on the dips here as I believe it is oversold at these prices. but I will keep an eye on it. which is what even long term investors need to do. GE is a long term good play, I like Jin Crame'rs rule buy on the dips and sell on the upswing that doesn't mean you become a day trade what he recommends is if a stock raises 5% sell a portion, it might still climb and your still in the game, but if it pulls back 5% from the high buy back a small portion, it is wise advice I have used and so far up 13.5% percent for the year

RS I agree with you GE is a strong stock, in fact a number of strong companies with good balance sheets are getting hit after reporting beating or meeting EPS but missing on revenue est. which makes me step back and ask did revenues increase from 2011? have they been increasing this year? if the answer is yes then those setting the estimates got it wrong and may very well be over estimating the increase one should expect in revenue increases.......yeah I am sure a good part of EPS increase is cost cutting, but I am thinking margins had to play a roll also for these companies, I guess in today's market that is a bad then to investors and talking heads out there....
