I work in private wealth management. I help improve trust funds, identify market opportunities, and work with our accountant to find tax loopholes for elites. I HATE these people, and I'm clearly disingenuous because I kiss their butts and do their dirty linens because I'm caught in this weird material system I was born into. Further, I generally try to make a study of the bond and capital/credit markets a pastime (it's great for parties; you can say "I study markets, credit markets and spread allocations" in a snooty, Thurston Howell-ish voice and all the superficial, rich women just swoon!). What is my educational background?:
Got my bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh. Should have gotten an engineering degree, but I figured "Why do I need to be a producer - we have enough of those, right?" Nope, wrong! Conned myself into being a service-industry parasite.
Do I like your sports team?:
Due to spending some time in Pittsburgh, my core programming routines have been invaded and reconfigured such that for all current and subsequent occassions, I will always favor sports teams within the Pittsburgh metro area.
What is my economic and political affiliation?:
I'm a Political Liberal and an Economic Capitalist (Heterodox). Yes, I know, it's heresy. But there's a number of things I don't believe in that make me a heretic on this board: perfect competition, general equilibrium, or the integrity of the price mechanism. Crazy, huh?
What am I doing right now?:
Currently, I'm working on graduate school entrance examinations & beginning the application process for law, economics, and public/international affairs programs. Choosing any one thing was always so difficult.
