  • Hovnanian May Be The Best Buy In Housing [View article]
You should have recommended the stock when it was under $1 when I was buying it. I think it a little over valued at these levels especially with its enormous debt level. I believe they wont be fairly valued until 2020 based on earnings and I see margin compression not expansion. Foreclosures are now reversing much higher again as I expected. This will hurt prices.

Apparently you didn't read this article. Their balance sheet is strong and numbers are improving, some are the best ever reported. Europe is no surprise - they are having huge financial issues and they don't purchase as strongly online like US folks. Lastly, the chairman didn't sell his shares. It was to provide access to the original shareholders, a fund set up.

  • 3 Reasons Why Ascent Solar Is The Best Solar Speculation [View article]
Dilution happens all the time. Not sure I would call it screwing the shareholders. It was priced lower than current market for obvious reasons. Why would anyone lend money in a private placement (buy shares of a secondary) at current prices? Would you? I'm assuming they raised the money to produce more products and increase sales of existing products. That's how it works. If they went to a bank the bank would have charged a high rate of interest. Understand?

  • Top 10 Pick: Buy Hovnanian Enterprises [View article]
I think you are a little late here my friend. You should have suggested that two years ago when no one wanted these stocks. I reccommended them as an alternative to buying a house in 2009. There are no jobs to support a full blown housing recovery. The latest uptick in the housing numbers are from investors (hedge funds and money managers). Its a no brainer...but you have to have money. Not many people do and those that do are concerned. Banks have plenty of cash reserves and don't want to lend. The world has changed and many people would rather buy second-hand homes hoping to receieve a better deal than buying new (forclosures and short sales). Once the "shadow inventory" is reduced than new homes will pick up again. But once home prices start to climb a litter higher we will see many people place their homes back on the market. This will further depress prices. Just so you know prices have already started to climb in many areas and have been for the year. We have a few years before things get better here and HOV has balance sheet issues. I would suggest Pulte.
