  • Why Natural Gas Could Make A Run Towards $5 This Spring [View article]
I agree; when these big market movers are hyping the price, it is time to sell.

They are only trying to sucker us into buying and we will be left holding the bag when the converse happens. They will be making the $money$ and laugh at us all the way to the bank.

The injection season is on; the price will stagnate for another six weeks at least, no matter what these shysters try to tell us.

  • Is The Natural Gas Rally Over? [View article]
Wet gas and shale oil wells produce enough dry natural gas as a by-product that they can still sell at any price as a bonus to keep the supplies going. This is why even though drilling for dry gas well has declined; production has hardly been affected for over a year now. At one point it will, but I don't expect it during the injection season.

But the hot summer, if there is, will not start before another one or two months.

@ Gigem; I agree and I am even surprised that it went this high. The pullback is just around the corner if not here already.

Despite all this gas went up. I maintain my short and am waiting for NG to tank again within the next month.

It's a dirty business. There is no reason for gas to be 4$ today anymore than it was under 2$ last spring.

The big market movers are just trying to flush small players like us out. If you got the nerves to hang on; the price is about to reverse direction soon. One more week and it's injection season with plenty of gas left.

It is said that in this business you have to go against the grain. I think you were wise to take your profit and run.

I will rather short on the highs. I have my times of being bullish, but this is not the time for NG.

There is no reason for NG to go above 4$ and even no reason to be at the price it is now. The injection season is here, wells already drilled and capped and ready to be connected to the system and plenty dry gas being produced through exploration of liquid gas and shale oil forking a better price in which the sale of any resulting dry NG at any price is a bonus.

The price will go up allright; but only many months from now after it tanks during the injection season.

The shorts are going to come in droves if NG hits $4; that's a given.

User 353732 has a most valid point. However weather does have a short term effect on traders and does affect the price of NG, even the long term forecast, which is no more reliable than the groundhog. The thing is; we have 10 days of winter left and no matter how cold it gets, winter is just about over. The sun is getting warmer and space heating requirements are now negligible; next comes the injection season with about 2TCF of NG in the reserves before it starts.

NG will eventually go up, but it will tank before it does in a week or so.

"The rig counters and weather forecasters have been wrong now for over a year."

They are most of the time, more particularly the long term weather forecasters. This is what I have been saying all along. Despite this, it afftects the price of NG.

  • Will Natural Gas Market Continue To Heat Up? [View article]
If you followed me throughout here, my message is that long term weather forecasts are unreliable and no better than the groundhog. If they happened to be accurate this time; it's sheer luck.

After four days, it's not much better than a guess.

If you're talking about me, I said winter in the Continental US is "just about over". I say this because we are approaching the middle of March.

If I took my weather forecast from the groundhog, I would be just as accurate as these long term weather forecasters.
