  • Natural Gas - A Winter Of Discontent For The Bulls [View article]
Except that when the coal plants are discontinued; they will more likely be replaced by natural gas plants.

It makes sense; except that most coal generating plants are being replaced by gas fired plants because they are cheeper to build and operate, and less polluting.

I already know about dry gas being a by-product of liquid or wet NG and oil. Oil is tanking as well; so now are you telling us that all this dry gas comes out as a by-product of liquid gas?

I am just wondering how long companies can keep up producing gas and selling it at current prices. They've been doing it for years now and are still doing it. I am at a loss to explain any of this. Go figure!

NG under $2.89 on December 31st; who would have thought? - It just does not make any sense; but there it is!

"There's got to be a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth". - But I really think that opportunity is knocking at about this time.

I always appreciate a humble person. As you say, no one knows where the bottom is.

I bought two Canadian stocks Canadian Oil Sands (COS) and Altagas Ltd (ALA). They have high dividend yields. They kept going down a bit, and then shot up past my purchase price. COS really got hammered and cut its dividend substantially although it still pays over 7% annually while ALA plays 4.25%. ALA is most diversified producing electricity with windmills, hydro power and natural gas. I will hold both long term and collect the dividend. These are two solid companies that should be able to survive and shoot up considerably after the dust settles.

  • Natural Gas: The Selling Continues But Winter Has Not Yet Begun [View article]
This is an excellent article describing exactly how the natural gas market has been performing in the latest previous years. One thing to watch for is long term weather forecasts. As soon as it comes out, gas either spikes or retreats depending on cold or warm forecasts. Then as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning, in a matter of days, the computer models will make a roundabout and predict the opposite; then the price of natural gas will reverse abruptly. It makes for exciting trading and like the author says: “It’s not for the faint at heart”. But there is a lot of money to be made… and lost.

So true! Computer power is doubling every 18 months and the software is getting more and more sophisticated and performant. Those riding their camels in the desert do not apprehend the changes coming up in the world of technology. They are in for a rude awakening.

Let's say it was not high on their list. They could always blame it on some terrorist groups. But I hope not.

GET USED TO BEING TIRED! Liberty of expression authorizes anyone to critiicize anyone and anything. Suppresssion of the liberty of expression is what caused religion to thrive. Just ask Galileo Galilei and countless before and after him. And it is still going on in camel countries.

  • Massive Natural Gas Inventory Drawdown: And The Price Falls [View article]
What really amazes me is when the herd reacts to the long range forecast. It never fails. Then as sure as the sun will rose tomorrow, the computer models will predict totally the opposite. Then NG will swing in the other direction. Our local weatherman said that over 48 hours, no one can predict the weather with accuracy; but the herd will respond to the long term weather forecast just the same. This is exactly what happened Friday and up went NG after the previous forecast called for mild weather, then made a roundabout.
