  • Apple: How To Admit You're Out Of Ideas  [View article]
I agree that AAPL is not smart in borrowing money to buyback shares; now it has a debt. Perhaps there's no fantastic product coming out this year but I guess worthwhile products would take quite some time to develop, test, and market. Bought some AAPL stocks last summer before it hit high of 705 but luckily sold them before the downward trend started. Will not buy AAPL any more due to their non-growth, lack of innovative products and ideas, updates of old iphones, reluctance to offer phones with larger display size, lousy management, and bad quarter reports. AAPL might benefit with new leadership and vision.

  • A new test concept by Wal-Mart (WMT) on the campus of Georgia Tech will involve opening a tiny 2.5K square foot store aimed at suiting the needs of college students. The big picture: Though the amount of merchandising at the mini-store will pale in comparison to an average Wal-Mart Supercenter (182K sq. ft), by offering financial services and a pharmacy to students the retailing giant could build up brand loyalty in a key demographic.  [View news story]
Great idea for campus amt mini stores! Most don't have cars to drive out to wmt store and this is real convenient for students & potentially profitable venture.

  • McDonald's (MCD) will open its first vegetarian restaurants ever when two locations near Indian pilgrimage centers open later this year. Growth in India in general is expected to pick up again, with the company estimating it will double its 271 stores in the nation over the next three years.  [View news story]
Why not have veggie burgers available here in the US too? I would order it as would a lot of my friends. Items like this can help MCD have more business and hence money with people more health conscious these days.
