  • Churchill Mining Plc - 09/28/09 [View instapost]
    Dear w88,

    We recently wrote an update in one of our alerts. The following quote comes from our May 3rd alert;

    Churchill Mining (CHL.L) announced some reassuring news last week. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PLN, an Indonesian energy producer. PLN is currently reviewing the possibility to buy an additional 5M tonnes coal per year, if their trials to enhance the calorific value of the coal through a Licol-process are successful. Currently, Churchill’s 5,200kcal/t coal is trading around 35USD/tonne, but imagine what consequences it would have if they could reach the 6,000-6,200kcal/t-mark. Those prices are currently hovering around 60USD/tonne. Operating margins would then improve drastically (in fact they could even double), if they succeed in their attempts. We expect a steady flow of news over the coming months.

    I hope this answers your question, otherwise feel free to ask!
    Kind Regards,

  • Mining Top 25 for 2010 - 19 - Universal Resources Limited [View instapost]

    The stock was not split twice. You are probably referring to the Google Finance chart showing 2 splits, but this is an error.

    As to your question why the stock was split, this is purely psychological. Shareholders prefer a $0.20 stock instead of a $2 stock. A $0.20 stock seems to be able to grow more.

    Do not hesitate to ask questions if you have any.
