2 comments and the word/phrase (you haven't been consistent) "Obamacare" mentioned 3X. Political commentary or looking for investment information?

  • Why It's Time To Sell McDonald's Shares Now And Buy On The Next Major Pullback [View article]
Jason, thanks for your insightful comments. Regarding your comment about a possible contracting economy and the added pressure that would place on lower to middle income folks....if that scenario did indeed materialize wouldn't it again self populate as some of the higher middles moved to middles and so on? It seems to me like MCD is placed well to take full advantage of challenging times like these. Trying to learn and make the most of my limited last few years of building up the portfolio before I start dipping into it. Thanks.

Tim, I humbly admit I have beaten you to zero punches. I read each of your postings with interest and look forward to each. Nearing retirement (6 more years?) I am trying to get my feet on the ground. Cashing out 4% of my assets never sat well with me. I have stumbled across DGI and have been trying to punch holes in the logic (while beginning to rebalance my portfolio in that direction). Keep on writin'. Thanks to you and the other contributors.

Pls see page 5. Appears NJ is 71% funded. I didn't research how that rate was determined. http://bit.ly/X4FoU9

Ya know, I want to agree with you but......is this the fiscal conservative you're hanging your hat on? The one I should stop, listen to, and learn from? Please! This guy, if elected, would not have a clue. You think austerity is sinking the European economy? Just imagine what it would do here. We need to grow our way out. Please though - watch the video on the attached link.

Ah, Grasshopper, tune in please (in other words, "Dude, watch the replay")

  • The U.S. Economy Sitting On The Threshold Of A New Golden Age, Part 1 [View article]
    Dear Mr. Fish,

Part of the problem is perception and perception is made worse with sweeping generalities like yours (read "virtually every kid EXPECTS to go to college and many of them expect their parents to pay for it). You forcefully shove your perceived "today's spoiled child" rant in our faces. Frankly, it's insulting. I'm a hard working guy - been one for about 40 years now (58 YO). I have two great kids who I put through school - yeah, I wanted to do it - they expected nothing except what I told them while they were growing up. They worked while in school and did quite well thank-you-very-much. One just gratuated summa cum laude with a PharmD and the other is in a top 30 Law School. They worked hard and are about to embark on their own professional paths - them and their friends and classmates - most of whom are most impressive. Stop the crap. There is plenty wrong with this generation just like there is with ours. They will make their own mistakes just like we did - hopefully we taught them to learn from ours. Respectfully, Sir, keep your nasty comments to yourself - cast stones if you like but do it in your basement.
