  • Rentech Nitrogen Partners, L.P. Secures $50 Million Revolving Credit Facility [View article]
This management is completely out of control, borrowing money by leveraging all their assets. Shouldn't the plant in Texas be a warning to them?? They are even paying a fee for money they aren't using.

  • Rentech companies sink after reporting heavy Q4 losses [View news story]
@Alpha, not only that they are already looking for the next big great thing. These guys jumps to the next project before they even have the previous one under control. Instead of buying all these companies over the past 2 years they should have invested their money in gas fields, protect the cost basis.

Good luck collecting the success payment. Any company doing business with China will end up with nothing and they steal the technology, transfer it to another company and your claim gets lost in the bankruptcy.

  • Why Bitcoin Matters [View article]
MRBKnight, You have some valid points at this stage of the Bitcoin development, but remember CC had similar issues with fraud and unauthorized charges in their infancy. CC companies quickly realized they had to protect their card users or their business model would fail. I don't think it will be very long until stolen bitcoins can be recovered with the help of the network looking out for stolen (tagged) coins. Once that's in place stealing bitcoins will be useless as the use of the stolen bitcoins will track you down with the help of the network verifying the coins.

The amount of gold is only limited by the rate of extraction from earth. Bitcoins are limited to a total of 21 Million by 2140, in other words the number of coins being 'mined" are decreasing over time.

"Even the Dollar have more behind it"
You got that right, it have $17 Trillion worth of debt and countless instances of mismanagement behind it. Bitcoins on the other hand only have one issue, what people think its worth as a payment method.

  • Renewable Energy's latest purchase sparks analyst concern, shares -11.7% [View news story]
I just have a hard time seeing REGI being able to turn SYNM and LS9 into money makers in reasonable time when for example SYNM have lost money hand over fist, the only reason they survived this long is Government subsidies and tax refunds. Their plant is idling at a cost of a Million plus a month and it will cost another $10 Million to start it up again. Even if they bought SYNM at a bargain price on paper it might not be such a good deal in the end when you have to sink a lot of money into it just to maybe make some money. I don't know much about LS9 more than they are a company under development.
