  • Yellen: Gradual rate hikes likely this year [View news story]
@Tim's, What country are you referring to? Since 2008 the debt has more than doubled, if I'm not mistaken Reagan was dead, both Bushes were out of the office...who's is left? O'Dumbo...and an administration who couldn't pass a budget for 6 straight years. All that equals uncontrolled spending.

Interesting response, "into dark shadows" apparently doesn't comply to the SA mob's love for the current system of corruption. You play the game well and go along with whatever comes out of Washington because you know it will translate into money, if you comply and follow. You all put down any resistance and opinions that do not comply with your own thinking.
So to comment on the subject of this post, the rates won't go anywhere. We are only halfway to where Japan is today.

  • 'The U.S. Is Broke' [View article]
Go Lakers, That is all correct on already issued bonds, but all future bonds in a higher interest environment will have higher debt service. I for one don't believe the US Government will stop borrowing money once the rates goes higher. That's when the SHTF.

Another reason you see Dollar strength is offshore profits being shifted from local currency to USD accounts offshore.

  • Still no agreement in U.S. refinery strike talks [View news story]
Who benefit the most from this strike? The refineries, price of gasoline and diesel goes up. This is all bullshit to drive the prices up and blame it on strikes, they get a twofer out of it. Unions pretend to be relevant again but getting played like a fiddle, abolishing unions would take that play out of the deck.

Another Chinese rip-off of technology with the promise of future payments. The company will cease to exist once the equipment is in China and RTK can forget trying to collect.

  • Rentech Nitrogen Partners, L.P. Secures $50 Million Revolving Credit Facility [View article]
This management is completely out of control, borrowing money by leveraging all their assets. Shouldn't the plant in Texas be a warning to them?? They are even paying a fee for money they aren't using.

  • Rentech companies sink after reporting heavy Q4 losses [View news story]
@Alpha, not only that they are already looking for the next big great thing. These guys jumps to the next project before they even have the previous one under control. Instead of buying all these companies over the past 2 years they should have invested their money in gas fields, protect the cost basis.

Good luck collecting the success payment. Any company doing business with China will end up with nothing and they steal the technology, transfer it to another company and your claim gets lost in the bankruptcy.

  • Why Bitcoin Matters [View article]
MRBKnight, You have some valid points at this stage of the Bitcoin development, but remember CC had similar issues with fraud and unauthorized charges in their infancy. CC companies quickly realized they had to protect their card users or their business model would fail. I don't think it will be very long until stolen bitcoins can be recovered with the help of the network looking out for stolen (tagged) coins. Once that's in place stealing bitcoins will be useless as the use of the stolen bitcoins will track you down with the help of the network verifying the coins.
