Can you post the history of your timing system? Do you have clear buy and sell dates for timing the market (SPY, QQQQ, Etc?). My timing system generates clear buy and sell dates in advance of each trade.

Does a large amount of short interest mean that these are primed for a pull back or are they ready to pop when the shorts get squeezed?

  • Inflation: It's a Crowded Trade [View article]
My bet is the Fed sees the deflation getting ready to spiral and are scared to death... they say the recovery is here and things are better, but until they start raising the Fed funds rate, their actions are stronger than their words.

    Well said.

  • Is Deflation Winning the Economic War? [View article]
Interesting chart, interesting article. Obviously the fed continues to fear deflation as is evidenced by the federal funds rate of zero.

Deflation favors those with cash. Their cash goes much further as the price of everything drops. Inflation favors those who are in debt. Old debt is paid off with new higher wages.

Deflation is not an option for the U.S. government because the U.S. is a huge debtor. As the dollar continues to rally over the next few months and equities start to plunge again, expect to see stimulus #3 (or is it #4, I have lost count) and the continued devaluing of the dollar.

The fed's fear continues to be deflation not inflation which is why the fund rate remains @ zero.

  • July Retail Sales: The Economic Storm Is Not Over [View article]
We all know that a correction is coming... the question is when. I have been convinced that September and October could see huge losses but I am beginning to believe that dips in September and October actually may present buying opportunities and that the correction may not materialize for 6 months or more. The worst play is the one where you are sure that you are right and have not considered that your timing may be wrong.
