With the slimmer, cheaper PS3 all but confirmed for release in about 2 months time and the best software line up of any of the consoles ready to be released steadily over the next year Sony are playing the long game and look set for a big rise in sales. Also a backwards compatibility patch is coming to get those PS2 users who haven't upgraded yet on board.
