  • Time To Buy Argent (And A 17% Yield) Before Earnings [View article]
I own this stock in a td ameritrade ira and wanted to warn others that Canada
withholds 15% of the dividend'when I asked the brokerage about this here is their response.
On most Canadian securities there is no withholding on dividends if they are held within an IRA. However, there are few Canadian companies that pay distributions that are classified as SIFT (Specified investment flow-through) distributions, such as the one ANGYF pays. In order to claim the withholding exemption it requires the brokerage firm to be based in Canada and have a Canadian tax identifier. Since TD Ameritrade is not based in Canada we are not able to get the exempt treatment on these types of securities.

  • The Bearish Case For American Eagle Outfitters: An Overvalued Dividend Stock [View article]
they paid out dividends as you say at 177% of eps due to the fact that they had EXCESSIVE cash on the balance sheet and were being shareholder friendly. The tone of your article to me implied thay just did it on a whim. they also did the year end double dividend- I wish all companies with excess cash treated the shareholders this way.
