2010 projections disappointed, program cuts and unfavorable outlook for high dollar kill systems in the Obama years sent them down. I own LMT but it may be dead money. Use a tight stop as it broke a key support level. Defense used to be defensive like health care. What will Obama go after next? Hide the children and dogs.

How many of you guys became rich from trading stocks or can give away millions from a Charitable Trust which is the only place the SEC allows you to trade since you move stocks in 15 second sound bites. Cramer is a brilliant guy who acts like a clown to hold the attention of old ladies and plumbers so he can teach them mind numbing economics, chart reading and balance sheets. You think he needs the money? I believe he
Natural Gas ETF: Nowhere to Go but Up, Yet It Keeps Going Down [View article]
The guys in Washington may include the USO and UNG in regulations being proposed to stop futures manipulation. As oil and gas prices get passed on to struggling consumers, they could just increase the margin limits so one guy with $10 million can't pump a barrel up by 10 bucks, which it turns out is what happened recently when it hit the mid 60's. The UNG's popularity with hedge funds and speculators may be its undoing. I suspect they will not get the ok to issue more shares with all the talk of controlling speculation on oil and gas futures. Could turn it into a closed end fund that trades at a discount. If they do clamp down on speculation maybe the better trade would be the drillers and refiners since speculators will just head there for the exposure they want. The USO or UNG may end up less connected to the commodities than they already are..

shorting long term treasury via TBT has been a good trade and should continue to work with the massive infusion of Gov bond auctions and inflation just ahead, but it is volatile so take profit when you can ( all ultra bull or bear ETF's only work as short term trades, not buy and hold investments). Also just buying individual AA or A rated corp. bonds with 6 to 7% yields is a pretty safe place to park some cash without the "toads wild ride" of some bond ETF's in the last 12 months. Right now there are a slew of historically high dividend paying stocks, like BP, NS, HTS, LINE, along with the sedate SDY, VIG, VYM, and other easy to use ETF's. When buying individual stock for it's dividend make sure it is not poised for a big pull back after the nice run we've had or that 5% yield won't seem so wonderful. This is where paying attention to trading ranges and doing your homework matters.
Thank you for all the commentary and charts you put together. When trying to decide how to trade the earnings over the next few weeks it helps to know how the big money might be reading the tea leaves. In the past I have been able to make money by good old fashioned top down, bottom up research and left the charting to others. Since getting back in from cash at the March 9th low I am up 25% for the year, but all the media noise and shift in market tone has me diving back into cash again. I know the big money and market makers rely more heavily on charts these days so it seems wise to use them along with the fundamentals in this highly uncertain and fragile market. Absent any historic norms or hard data to guide us in the next few quarters, where we go from here is the lottery ticket we would all like to own. Until we know if this is to be the feared "W" recovery it seems wise to use every tool available to navigate this mess. Again... thanks from an old dog trying to learning a few new tricks.
