Dr. Jack Rasmus is professor of political economy at St. Marys College, Moraga, CA, and author of the recent books, 'Epic Recession: Prelude to Global Depression', 2010, and 'Obama's Economy: Recovery for the Few', 2012. He is owner and principal of the economics consulting firm, Kyklosproductions LLC, and a former Director and VP of strategic business development and market analysis for various US and European multinational companies
40 year veteran in agricultural marketing. My investment philosophy is biased towards value where free cash flow and its sustainability trump everything else. I favor dividend paying stocks with a history of stable and increasing dividends over time supported by sustainable payout ratios. Besides traditional equities, I also like Preferred stocks, Master Limited Partnerships, Business Development Companies, and certain Closed End Funds selling at discounts to NAV whose distributions reflect actual income rather than just return of capital.

I am a private investor mainly focused in so called value investing.
Writing helps me to structure my investment ideas as well as to submit them to other people's opinion and critics.
I have been analyzing and trading stocks for over 10 years. I have primarily studied and followed value investors like Warren Buffet. However, I also believe that technical analysis can play a role in analyzing a stock before making an investment. I have found that solid financial analysis, combined with the ability to understand current market psychology is key to investment success.
I also find the best trading spot is far away from Wall Street, my favorite place is a sunny beach in Mexico.
I am planning to form a small private equity company which will focus on activist investing and possibly buyouts of smaller capitalization companies.
