The monthly job numbers tend to set the tone for a while and last month's numbers were good and revision to March was huge, had 30% cash invested until 18% simply as I perceive a growing economy led by housing and increased consumer confidence due to a number of reasons including appreciation in equities. Consumer activity is vibrant in my metro area and a lot of good visual signs. S&P p/e is reasonable and only reason I have 18% cash is to pickup on some oversold stuff when a correction occurs.

I am cautiously, as always, bullish and watch things very closely.

Citigroup (C) joins AIG in the hedge fund hotel (Apple was kicked out in late 2012/early 2013), with this week's 13F filings showing a number of well-known funds adding or initiating positions in Q1 (though Tepper's Appaloosa pared his). The stock's up 40% since Michael Corbat took the reins from Vikram Pandit and hit another 52-week high yesterday.

More from Gundlach: Not concerned about inflation, he calls TIPS (TIP) "pretty bad" investments and says he'll be a buyer if the 10-year (TLT) yield bounces back to 2% (off 3 bps today to 1.94%). As for the inevitable Apple (AAPL -3.3%) question - he prefers the common stock to the just-issued bonds. Warren Buffett says he prays for stocks he owns to go down in price - it allows him and company repurchase programs to buy at better prices. Is Apple putting money to work the last couple of days?

Me don't know.

Since fixed income investments are low, my premiums are high (auto/home). Maybe the reason why in the last 3 years, while getting my car crunched by 2 teen tweeters, I pay an additional $ 300 per year for auto as teen insurance company wouldn't pay right a way. Forcing me to rely on my good ole insurance company for repairs. Eventually other insurance paid in full, but I get 2 hickies on my auto report resulting in 5 years of additional payment penalties. What about depreciation via Car Facts? Me thinks this is a scam. Making it up and more on my insurance company investments, for the time being. This is a national deal unless prevented by state law. No state law, yet, in my state.

A seasonal thought, look at insurance companies around Thanksgiving and hold through this time next year to limit exposure to weather related issues. Never can tell when a disaster will occur, ie, earthquakes, but all insurance companies are "hitting out of the park" now. Was lucky I was in several insurance stocks in late fall '12.
