  • Wall Street Breakfast: Greek Bailout Extension Clears German Hurdle [View article]
My favorite is a trimmed 3lb tenderloin at Costco. Approximately 20 inches long. We Immediately carve in 2 inch thick cuts (9-10 steaks). Package 2 per bag (2 of us) & put in a freezer. Date the outer package as not to confuse with subsequent steaks.

For medium rare, grill (we do charcoal) for 4 minutes each side (we leave top off). Only pepper & sometimes some brown sugar for a crisper outer (seems to seal juices inside) & enjoy.

The best home grilled steak I have eaten & better than 90% of steakhouse steaks. Cost about $110-120. About $10-12 each. 1 meal a week. Last 5-6 weeks.

After going thru 2013 when AAPL said nothing about anything & allowed the slammers to slam, I feel Cook better knows what he needs to do to prevent a repeat. That being said, I too am cautious short-term due to the monster run.

Don't think this would have been necessary but telcos continued to throttle me & apparently millions of other consumers so it looks like they made their own bed.

Why is it the right only thinks that more gov't is okay with regs that their party initiates? It's called politics.

Better gov't not bigger? That's extremely subjective.

I've got fiber to my house but that didn't stop the telco corp from throttling my speed. They simply wanted me to PAY more for what I had for years. Degradation started when they began to charge more for faster speed.

Got an Apple Airport device & have not had an issue since (3-4 years ago). This crap is happening all over the country & it's corporate bullying consumers because they can as most do not have an alternative option.

Not a fan of gov't regs but certainly not a fan of corporate abuse.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Investors Watch For Next Phase Of Greek Deal [View article]
Tony... Not providing investment advice but if you are playing AAPL in 2016 based on how it fared in 2013, I would be at least a bit cautious as I expect Tim Cook to manage the "S" cycle with more transparency & float stuff to the press. In 2013 their MO was to say basically nothing & let the slammers have their day. I don't think he will do as he did in 2013. More products to be available during the "S" cycle.

At time of writing, AAPL is $131.50 which is $920 pre split.

    Time will tell. Good luck.

Land... It may be that Fear is a blog and not considered an article where you can select to get email alerts. I don't see that option on blogs. Maybe there is a reason SA doesn't do it but I don't know why. You also can't do "Likes" on blogs.

Fear, always a good & logical read. Thanks once again.

Good buy down on DAL. As you indicated, oil up airlines down & vice versa. As a shareholder I didn't add as oil continues to make me cautious. Still concerned with continuing increase in oil inventory each week. IMO, if oil revisits low $40's, market won't like it & will hit many sectors but perhaps Transports.

I have analyzed many restaurant stocks & just couldn't pull the trigger due to valuations. Loved Jack but wanted to see what happened after earnings, it soared!! Sonic is well run but, again, high P/E. Sales growth for most have been good to excellent. If you have any suggestions I eagerly await. If not comfortable providing that is cool.

AIG pleasantly surprised me after reporting a kitchen type sink qtr which was a bit ugly (New CEO) hit huge in AH then soared the next day. What a gift!

Healthcare Insurance corps, own AET, CI & UNH, continue to do well.

Even though retail sales were a bit disappointing I think there are winners like JWN showed this week (long JWN, COST & RD). We will know soon as a bunch are about to report. Expect KORS to continue to beat but Wall Street has punished them in last 2-3 quarters. FOSL, after Q report, hit my alert in the mid $80's but watches were soft & didn't initiate a position because I do believe Apple Watch will have an impact (AAPL largest position).

AXP hit alert & watching carefully but COST issue keeps me at bay for the moment.

Wanted to initiate a position in analytic Internet security firms (FEYE, CBRG, SPLK, PANW, etc) but sat idly by why they soared.

Although a great week for all longs it was frustrating for me as I have 26% cash. Thanks to, primarily, AAPL, DAL, LUV, SYF, BA, & more recently FB, I am a bit ahead of the S&P500 thus far for 2015.

    Thanks again.

Interesting.. It appears she has planned & IMO she will certainly benefit from her labors. No question in my mind that boomers had more opportunities at an early age than millennials do right NOW. This environment has made many of them savvy spenders. Watch what they spend & where & analyze to see if sustainable.

Best of luck to your daughter & your family.

Rich... My father benefited, as a depression era youngster, from baby boomer demands & habits. Initially, home value appreciation & later using those proceeds to invest in equities where the sheer size of the boomer generation lifted most all boats.

A similar situation is occurring now where boomers are no longer the largest generation. Although close in numbers, millennials are now larger (82m vs 78m via various reports using 1982-2000 as millennial range, 1944-1964 boomers, 2 years less). The oldest millennials are in their early 30's & are beginning to shift the market based on their desires.

Even baby boomers are taking cue from their millennial children. As an investor one needs to look at changes that have already occurred (devices vs apparel, Chipotle vs MCD, tea vs sugar water, AMZN vs mall, rent vs buy (this will change), NFLX vs cable, etc).

Boomers will continue to move the market, but things are changing and I am most definitely watching my 32 year old son & his family's habits.
