  • Wall Street Breakfast: Global Markets Look To Escape Pull From China  [View article]
Wasn't it the surge in home sales to those that really couldn't afford one in 2006-2007 that caused the financial meltdown?

Comparing current home sales now to those during the idiot days brings me comfort & bullishness in the housing sector & economy overall.

Appreciate timing of your short article. Opportunities will come with any pullback. Suggest alerts be set & of course monitored closely. Short term bearish but long term bullish.

  • KKR burned by energy bets  [View news story]
Whether or not it was KKR dollars or others or both they have made horrible decisions which will impact their reputation for many years.

Primary reason for BRK.A & BRK.B 18 month flatline starting at the end of 2010 was investing in KKR on the Energy Future Holdings fiasco. I believe $2b was written off by Warren & shareholders.

Meanwhile in North Texas, home of Energy Future Holdings, they are experiencing 2 hour rolling blackouts of very selected areas during days of 100+ degrees. Wonder why? Could it be they have not invested in infrastructure in a growing area? Texas Public Utilities was a very fine company until it went the way of a PE buyout. Ask former employees (which I'm not).

Not sure where 9% gains annualized start position begins but it's basically flat to down in the last several years.

The foreclosure rate is "as expected" as banks & courts have exhausted years of gummed up cases caused by "robo signing" & other illegal practices from mortgage & lending institutions. Courts ruled in 2011-2012 that foreclosure practices by some lenders were unlawful & therefore delayed 100 of thousands of foreclosures.

Dallas real estate has been very robust in the last 36 months. The up 64% in foreclosures in Dallas does not reflect home values but simply a misleading statistical measure that benefits only lending institutions as they now can get their money & certainly has not harmed housing prices.

After December 31, 2013 those that default are now required to pay taxes on the loss that was incurred by lender. Smart ones (or crooked ones) sold out prior to then.

  • Weekly Market Update - Recent Earnings And Economic Data Are Positive As The Market Sells Off  [View article]
Fear thanks again. Look forward to your thoughts every weekend.

In looking back to this time LY, my portfolio hit the summer time low on the 5th trading day of Aug '14 & continued aggressively upward until 7th trading day in Oct '14 when Ebola started to overwhelm everything.

During that time I was overweight AAPL & had no energy exposure. Yesterday was the 5th trading day of Aug so with more than usual in cash I finally picked up DIS & MBLY (Thurs), and, believe it or not, TWTR (<1% of portfolio) yesterday near close of session. Really watching XON to add after a blood bath yesterday.

IMO, biotech stocks will keep going up, eventually, until there is no good news on major drug breakthroughs. Could be years before that occurs. Obviously not in a straight line but my thinking is we are still in the early innings in the sector. Adding carefully to GILD if <$111 & will add to JNJ if <$97.

As you mentioned, a lot of negativity surrounding AAPL. Reminds me of 2013. In no way do I think it will be a 2013 like stock swoon. Nevertheless, just after earnings I sold out of 1/2 position to primarily take profits & become more flexible in making entry points (timing the market?). Sometimes timing is the wrong thing to do. Article comments are filled with such negativity surrounding the watch & music that it is almost laughable. I predict the watch will be very successful (Have one since June) & music subscriptions will be an added no brainier for iPhone purchases within a year (huge listener & it's great). Bloggers are out in force. Just a game with a lot of noise that will soon abate.

    Thanks again.

  • Apple: There Won't Be An iPhone 6s Bump  [View article]
Revenue guidance provided by AAPL was not weak unless one thinks a 16% YoY (using lowest guidance number) growth is weak. Definitely not "very weak". Stock may go down but your analysis is not convincing.

  • Is It Time To Sell Skyworks Solutions?  [View article]
    Thanks for sharing your article.

SWKS may indeed be an excellent investment at current price but QRVO was more severely punished & IMO, a better buy at its current price. If AAPL just hits its lowest guidance rev numbers ($49b) for this quarter, it would still be >16% growth YoY. Both AAPL & RF chip manufactures were severely punished. I expect all 3 will be higher in price 1st quarter 2016.

  • Skechers: Why Citi's $142 Price Target Is Still Undervaluing The Company  [View article]

I'm not a shareholder SKX so I'm not pumping & dumping anything. Never have nor ever will.

Apparently you have a problem with the stock or senior management. I know all about LA Gear & before. I also know I made a lot of $'s on their shoes in the 80's & 90's in my retail stores.

So whatever your problem is, I don't care. You obviously can't tell the difference from an accurate post and a lie because of your extreme bias.

Put at least an A8 chip in the mini & I'm in for myself & other members of my family. This will happen & be available in Oct this year, IMO.

Thanks for clarification as I did notice the huge uptick in sale of Surface just reported.

  • Skechers: Why Citi's $142 Price Target Is Still Undervaluing The Company  [View article]
They were in the business way before SKX. They ran a very profitable private footwear business. I was in the industry and I can't think of anyone other than Knight that has been as successful on a long term basis. Sure there are bad seasons in the footwear business. Something as simple as not having the right color in the line can mean millions of $'s in a single season.

They have run a fickle business because footwear IS a fickle business. Home runs separate individuals.

I can't tell you where SKX stock will be in the future but I can tell you senior management have been hitting home runs for over 4 decades in the footwear industry. These guys know how to run a business in a very difficult industry to succeed in consistently.
