  • Apple Watch Has Implications For Big Data, IoT And Web 3.0 [View article]
Alex, great article as always. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I believe the preventive health care data that the watch will provide will be huge for better health seeking individuals. Although there are a lot of devices that measure activity, I believe Apple's ability to scale this opportunity will be massive.

I know 6 baby boomers (3 couples) that have greatly enhanced their activity level by having a device (iPhone 6) that simply measures steps, stairs climbed, workouts, cycling, etc. Having this data provides continuous incentive to better their past week numbers.

Since Oct of last year, all 6 have dramatically improved their health. It all started with 1 of the 6 increasing activity level & the other 5 noticing the benefits which motivated them. Two no longer have to take blood pressure meds. The watch will be the catalyst for preventative care with an audience that is absolutely huge.

There will be many baby boomer customers. Activity metrics provided will lead to an increase in motivation/competition. There will be a lot that will see benefits of early adopters & will embrace subsequently.

  • Apple Numbers Get Serious [View article]
Whether you agree with Dana or not he does make a valid point that all investors should be aware of for any stock owned. Perhaps there were statements that you disagree with but understanding his main premise of what is necessary to move the stock in the future is, IMO, paramount. I appreciate him taking the time to provide his thoughts. Long AAPL.

AAPL in the first part of Jan 2014 was soft before taking off. I think patience will be rewarded.

  • My Bet Is That Microsoft Will Outperform Apple In 2015 [View article]
Thanks for article. Hold both AAPL & MSFT. It would not surprise me if MSFT outperforms AAPL in 2015. Invested in MSFT due to cloud opportunities not at all for Windows as Windows was the reason I invested in AAPL years ago.

16 is enough for me but not my wife as she has a lot more apps (mostly games) & pics. I don't do many pics & only select apps that are not entertainment based.

hahaha48... I believe you ridiculed me in the 1st qtr of 2013 for a post I made in Dec 2012 about AAPL hitting a $1,000 price. I provided no timeframe. At the time of your post, AAPL was post split $57-58. Well, my friend, it appears the stock has more than doubled since then & I have purchased additional shares < $50 a share. Just need another 22% to hit my goal. Looks like I should ridicule you now, but I don't do that.

An advance apology if you are not the same hahaha48.

Btw, you above comment is absolutely incorrect. I do know computers as I used Windows for over 15 years & only AAPL products for the last 5 & I have not encountered any virus whatsoever. Market share has absolutely nothing to do with viruses. It appears you are the one lacking understanding computers.

  • Apple Pay Won't Drive Much Direct Revenue, But It Could Boost iPhone Loyalty [View article]

Actually it will be the merchant that benefits (not the other way as you state) as Oct 1, 2015 they will become responsible for fraudulaent credit card use if they are not on a platform that accepts, as 1 requirement, NFC capable checkout device.

Currently, & I assume going forward, merchants typically lease a device from a service credit card processing company so additional dollars for adopting the new device will be very minimal if any at all.
