  • Why Apple Will Escape The $130 Resistance Level [View article]
    Great article Alex. Thanks.

I like your conservative estimate of 10m for watch sales in 2015. I expect, or hope, it will be more in the range of 15-17m although we may never know the exact number.

Also expect IPADs sales will be up, substantially, YoY during holiday season this year.

I will be checking out Apple music this weekend through the next 3 months to see if I'm interested in paying for it subsequently. Currently using iTunes Radio for free. Hope I like it enough to pay for it.

    Thanks again.

  • Apple: 3 Questions For The Current Quarter [View article]
Bill, always look forward to reading your stuff on AAPL. Thanks.

You have 6m estimate for watch for this quarter. I've heard of around 1.9m sold online before arrival at stores just recently. Can you expand on how you came to your 6m estimate?

Imo, ipad sales will be weak this quarter & next but think it will be another ipad holiday this year as it was in 2013. Would love to get a mini with newest chip.

  • Apple's iPad Problem And How To Solve It [View article]
Collapsed from holiday quarter 2013 which was what Cook predicted "an iPad Christmas" & he was right, they blew the doors off.

I fully expect holiday quarter 2015 will be another iPad Christmas. Smart marketing, imo. Develop great upgrades & promote ipads during "s" cycle years. I plan to purchase several this holiday season.

  • Apple Watch Is Making Luxury Watchmakers Uncomfortable [View article]
Billy... I think your son is right. Got my watch (Sport -$ 400 w/taxes) yesterday @4pm. By 9pm I was hooked. My primary reason for purchase was for fitness (walking only, a boomer) tracking.

Grilled last night & went to Sprouts, used map feature (even though I knew how to get there) & worked perfectly via turn by turn, used Apple Pay (works better than pay on phone). Used watch timer to alert when time to flip meat, used watch to control Apple TV watching NFLX program (can start/stop, fast forward/rewind, go to menu functions) w/o using remote control (really convenient), used watch to control LED lighting (HUE app) inside & outside.

The watch design (even though the cheapest one) is remarkable. Not a prior watch wearer but band is some type of rubber that feels like silk & fits perfectly (adjustable). You really don't realize your wearing a watch which was the reason I never wore watches before.

Software integration with the phone & other 3rd party apps is seamless.

Apple support knew I was getting watch (yesterday) & sent me an email prior to delivery indicating I could schedule a 1 on 1 discussion with a support specialist. I scheduled a meeting via a link in the email & the support specialist picture came up & was scheduled for 6pm (couple hours after I got watch). Started playing with watch & was so easy to do functions that I canceled 1 on 1 an hour before it was scheduled. Crazy great support built around getting you going on the device.

Hats off to Apple. Stunningly wow'd me.

Moxi... You are using old data. I'm using most current. If you use most current qtrly reports, your growth statement is misleading to those that may not know. Quit cherry picking dates & use current data like most investors rely on.

Moxi.... I see you are cherry picking dates while I use most current information. My info is correct & can easily be verified. Your info may be correct, not sure & don't care, if you compare 2 year old data.

Moxi.....Me too. Last qtr revs are below vs prior years qtr

    AAPL $ 74.599b vs 57.594b (prior year qtr) = 29.5% growth

    GOOG $ $ 18.103b vs 15.707b (prior year qtr) = 15.2% growth

Therefore, AAPL's rev growth was almost twice that of GOOG. Yes, GOOG's growth has slowed & APPL's has accelerated based on most recent data available.

    Get your facts straight.

    Long both.

Moxi... Incorrect on several, if not many, statements. Apple's revenue growth was up 29.5% y/y, actually more than Google's last report.

I can stream anything that's available on the net from my iPad, iphone, Mac to TV via Apple TV.

Your assumption for 4k support is just that, an assumption as you nor I know.

I'm not implying AAPL should enter content industry but simply pointing out that you have misleading info in your post.

The Apple customer as there are no c.c. data on merchant servers. So no data to hack if Apple Pay is used.

  • Apple Watch Has Implications For Big Data, IoT And Web 3.0 [View article]
Alex, great article as always. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I believe the preventive health care data that the watch will provide will be huge for better health seeking individuals. Although there are a lot of devices that measure activity, I believe Apple's ability to scale this opportunity will be massive.

I know 6 baby boomers (3 couples) that have greatly enhanced their activity level by having a device (iPhone 6) that simply measures steps, stairs climbed, workouts, cycling, etc. Having this data provides continuous incentive to better their past week numbers.

Since Oct of last year, all 6 have dramatically improved their health. It all started with 1 of the 6 increasing activity level & the other 5 noticing the benefits which motivated them. Two no longer have to take blood pressure meds. The watch will be the catalyst for preventative care with an audience that is absolutely huge.
