  • Tesla Motors patent looks interesting to Global Equities [View news story]
Could not agree more, but the one key most of these stock jockies miss is....they don't own a Tesla, nor have they ever driven one! Why the hell would any of these number crunchers not get in one and experience what the auto industry is up against? There is anew standard by which all autos will be measured. How fast one can go above 80 mph is no longer important. How fast I can get out of traffic at 40~60 mph is everything.

  • Tesla Motors: A Short Sellers Dream Stock? [View article]
Over and over these guys come out of the woodwork professing over-value. None of you should be allowed to write a WORD until you DRIVE THE CAR. Period.

  • Tesla Motors (TSLA) lost its legal tussle with auto dealers in Texas over its plan to sell electric vehicles directly to consumers. A bill that would have provided an exception to current dealership rules failed to even make it the floor of the Texas House or Senate for a vote. [View news story]
No one should be allowed to respond except Tesla owners. Until you've driven one you have no clue about what you are speaking. Plain and simple. I live in Texas and have become accustomed to our backwoods ways. If it were not for us the rest of you would look to be insane. Cramer said it all. Drive a Tesla, then you can open your big mouth.

  • "I wanted to reach out to ask a favor," begins an e-mail sent last week by a senior exec at Tesla Motors (TSLA) to potential customers asking them to quickly turn in their paperwork in the last week of the quarter to help the company become profitable. Though it's not the first time an automaker has become hyper-aggressive in trying to stoke up extra sales before the end of a reporting period, it could be an indication that some Q2 Model S sales were pulled forward into Q1. Shares of TSLA are rocketing higher premarket, up 15.2% to $43.66 [View news story]
It happens with EVERY AUTO MAKER and every RETAILER for that matter. Reaching.

If you people had the ability to make money in a way that helped spur our economy then you would have an influence on my decision.

But since you are nothing more than modern day riverboat gamblers, I'll stick with my 10,000 shares of Tesla stock. I own the car and it blows everything else away, period.

It is the future, really. no, really!

  • Tesla Motors (TSLA +0.4%) showed off its Model X crossover prototype at the Detroit Auto Show to positive critical reviews. The SUV entry is expected to enter the market somewhere in the $60K-$65K range, which would be above the expected pricing of the Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid model. [View news story]

Motor Trend will love the spin accusation. As will Consumer Reports (owned by Wall Street I suppose) Oh, and see here, Madison Avenue has just coersed National Geographic into producing this fluff peice. Watch it if you can so you college business majors can get your brains around the scope of this endeavor. Then see if you can find a job.

There are so few people who will put their money where their mouth is? Wrong short putter. Those people just bullied the nation's big money into a second term for their president....bitch slapping them is more like it. Your analysis still disregards human nature. Built in America, 80% of it built in-house. Drink the koolaide and repeat after me.... "Its THE PRODUCT, followed by the numbers" that makes a company work. By the way, as soon as the Model X comes out I can dump my Yukon.

I dont trade stocks. As someone said, "Tis a way for someone who cannot find a real job to make it look as though they are working". That said, many of you forget Rule One for sideline investors. Buy stocks you use and know and use. Lots of you are judging the upscale market wrongly. I have enough money to buy a Tesla with cash. Your assumptions seems to be
    1) this car will be my only car. Wrong, I have a big gas Yukon for long trips. The high end market does not care. Some day I wont.
    2) this car is transportation. Wrong, to me this car is like a high end Porsche. It handles like no other car.
    3) my "plug in habits" cannot be trained. Yes they can, just like a Mac's mouse had no right click. I will adjust.
    4) the politics. This car is an investment in change, and the politics of America. Do not under estimate that passion!
The ONLY stats you should be watching are those from the likes of Edmunds and Consumer Reports. Motor Trend has already spoken. This car, the product, is amazing.

  • The Tesla Motors (TSLA -0.1%) Model S hits Germany to public acclaim as the automaker looks to start selling in the nation sometime next year. Unlike the U.S. where the company is a bit of a political lightning rod, Tesla expects to be very well-received across Western European nations. The bigger question for its European aspirations will be how big the luxury EV market actually is with auto demand cratering across the continent. [View news story]
Because THOSE Eu countries did not help fund Tesla. Ours did, and the Tea Party wants to make hay when their sun shines. Fortunately I suspect the sun is setting on their party and they dont even know it.

  • The rave reviews for Tesla Motors' (TSLA +2.9%) Model S aren't quite done pouring in after Motor Trend just returned from a Vegas-to-L.A. test drive that proved both the 265 mpg equivalent rating and zero-to-60 mph acceleration in under six seconds are valid. The company has the highly-anticipated Model X slated for 2014 if production wrinkles are worked out. As for cash burn, Elon Musk says as long as there aren't a "bunch of screw-ups," the automaker should be in good financial shape. [View news story]
Investment? Why does it need to be an investment. Altruistic purchase aside, support the genius of USA, support the technology, support the design, feel good. Too much analysis spoils the fun.
