  • Johnson & Johnson: Throwing In The Towel [View article]
100% agree with you Bernie 1. I'm long JNJ for the long term and have added on dips. Not keen on sacrificing my actual dividend yield on past purchases (much higher than the current 3.1 - 3.2% yield) for a capital profit just now. Would be a little expensive to buy for yield just at the momtne though...thanks for the analysis and comments on here everybody...this is becoming my main source for information and ideas!

It,s all too complicated for me! I'd rather just buy more high quality dividend growth stocks when prices are low...adding to my portfolio. Stick to the best stocks, proven over time, and you ought to be ok?

  • Eliminating Bad Investing Habits With Dividend Investing [View article]
I tend to buy a minimum of £2,000, about US$3,000, but we pay slightly higher fees in the UK...really it all depends on your budget and I have bought smaller tranches of higher risk shares just for a punt sometimes. At 29 you have plenty of time ahead!

Have to agree it's all good advice, and exactly what I'm trying to do...sometimes I find you simply have to hold your nerve and buy when you think the price is right (i.e. low enough) and others around you are selling. It's my aim to buy low and hold for the longer term (not necessarily forever, with due deference to the great Warren B). Thanks for an encouraging article.
