To a great extent Krugman's view is congruent with yours. I think you're misrepresenting him as optimistic about recovery. He has his very real concerns, some of which, mirror yours quite closely.

You've a huge misunderstanding of iPhone profits. Reread the WSJ article you cite. Apple's gross profits per iPhone (telecom subsidy included)are estimated to be $400+ (not your $27).
