EMC would make a more likely candidate to buy RVBD. Further, the aggressive, sales-oriented, corporate culture is a much better fit than CSCO or HPQ which are mired in political bureaucracy.

HP should have learned from acquiring Mercury that they are unable to retain the "best and brightest". CSCO will continue to compete with the Actona product, but like TopSpin, NeoPath and many other storage acquisitions, sometimes even Cisco can't get it right.
