  • Nokia - Asset Sale And EOS Could Be Catalysts For A Strong Stock Rally [View article]
I don't expect Nokia to sell its stake in NSN, quite the opposite:
If price is right NSN will be fully owned by Nokia , maybe they will float part of it later and make valuation of the whole more transparent.

I agree with new Lumia product launches, Lumia is getting better with every release. Upside in share price is increasing fast.

Take over speculation , we haven't seen anything yet. this is a start of a new catalyst for the stock. Smart money will ride the wave.

  • Short Interest Decreased 40% In This Stock: So What Happened To These Other Telecom Stocks? [View article]
Nokia is actually listed in Helsinki Stock Exchange which do have public listings of shot positions exceeding 0,5 % of the float. At Peak in Spring moire 11 % of total float was shorted, latest figures are around 8 % so decline there as well.
Just a kind reminder that there is a market outside US as well.

  • Nokia's Divestiture Of Nokia Siemens Networks Does Not Mean Much [View article]
What about if Nokia buys Siemens out?
Why would Nokia sell at 2,9 b euros?
How would your numbers change if NSN valuation is something else than WSJ figure?
How about doing some more analysis?

  • Nokia (NOK +4.2%) rallies after the WSJ reports Siemens (SI -0.5%) is talking to P-E firms, including TPG, KKR, and Blackstone, to "gauge their interest" in buying its 50% stake in Nokia Siemens, and that Nokia itself is thinking of buying Siemens out (possibly with the help of Finnish sovereign wealth fund Solidium). Analysts have pegged the value of NSN, which has turned profitable following a huge restructuring, at above €7B ($9.4B) after factoring debt. Bloomberg reported in February Nokia and Siemens had "intensified talks" to end Siemens' involvement in NSN. [View news story]
NSN is a technology leader in its field, not Siemens or Huawei have any additional expertise that would benefit NSN

I don't think government participation is a good alternative. I would prefer Nokia to take over NSN and then float it through IPO. That would put a market price on NSN and improve valuation of Nokia share.

  • Microsoft And Nokia: Windows Phone Advertising Working [View article]
It is \a pleasure to read quality analysis like this article. Keep on doing the good work.

Latest figures about WP8 sales increasing are very much expected, with 502/521 and coming product launches I expect WP8 & Nokia to gain further ground.

EOS/Elvis will attract buyers and it will take technology to new level. This will further promote OS & Nokia and show innovation.

  • Nokia Is Getting Better But There's A Large Risk Looming [View article]
not necessarily as Nokia has been cutting costs due to lower symbian sales. Now cost base is much lower -> with lower sales reaching profitability possible

I agree. MSFT is not a hardware but software company. Only way to get to that part of the market is through a takeover or joint venture.

  • Why I'm Worried About Nokia's Long-Term Prospects [View article]
I don't quite agree with this statement. MSFT is not interested in NSN and might not be interested in Mobile Phones part either.

It is smartphones, patents & HERE that MSFT is after if anything at all

    This excellent discussion.
I have learned more about supply chain management in this thread than in any of the business schools I attended.

    Thank you for your article.

I just want to point out that Nokia actually produces phones for two different operating systems, the other one is WP8 and the other one is S40 for feature phones and Ashas. It is not only about smartphones ....

  • Nokia's (NOK -2.6%) is likely to issue a Q2 warning in the next few weeks, writes RBC in a note that's pressuring shares. In addition to tough smartphone competition, the firm is worried about declining feature phone sales. Nokia's feature phone unit shipments fell 21% Y/Y in Q1 thanks to Android's low-end momentum, and its feature phone ASP fell 10% Q/Q and 15% Y/Y to just €28 ($36). [View news story]
This is opportunity to add some cheap Nokia stock!
