  • Nokia: A Sliver Of Light [View article]
I wonder if the slump in Q1 feature phone sales was more due to seasonal impact than weakness of Nokia products? If Q2 figures are better then there is no reason to worry too much about feature phones. There is a market out there and Nokia has always been strong at low price points.

Lumia is gaining traction, slowly but I guess it is normal at this part of product cycle especially when WP is truly a different user experience. i would love to see Lumia finally taking off in a big way in Q2. Maybe 520 & 620 will do it?

  • Nokia's Perplexing Q1 2013 Results [View article]
Very good, I enjoyed reading your article. Mixed feelings after today's news. Staying long for now, but not so bullish as I was until today.
Nokia is a great company, but execution fails more often than I find reasonable. After today's report I wonder what is the next issue, I would love to enjoy some good news for a change.

  • Nokia: Take A Long-Term View [View article]
I understand how you got your number, but you a neglecting the fact that there are almost 10 % ( 9,1 % as of today http://bit.ly/SiN8P7 ). These are positions that have to be reported, in excess of 0,5 % of the total float.
in addition there are short positions in NYSE which you are referring to. You have to add these together to get the total short position, which actually could be even higher due to 0,5 % rule.

Stock is jumping higher today , I suppose some of the shorts are covering in NYSE before tomorrow's figures. If they turn out to be good or very good, there might be a short squeeze coming next ?

Short interest in NOK is in Helsinki alone about 10 % of toatal number of shares. I suppose your figures are short interest in NYSE with ADR's. Makes about 20 % short. If figures are over expectations tomorrow, which could well be the case, expect share price to skyrocket.

  • Can Nokia Earn 1 Euro ($1.30 US) Per Share In 2014? Absolutely! [View article]
One wants to believe your numbers are going to materialize, if that is the case then share price will go to a new level which will be much higher than today. Thank you for this analysis, tomorrow we will know how realistic is is as we get the Q1 results.

Refreshing article , good opinions. Lets see what Nokia is going to deliver on Thursday.

I am not convinced Tablet is so important, when Nokia enters this part of the market they must have a high quality product. If I have understood it correctly , there are still some issues with Win8/WP8 interface. When the issues are solved, only then it is time for Nokia to enter the market. It should take place in coming months, please correct me if you have more accurate information on this.

Larger screens are in the pipeline, WP8 update will allow higher resolution and this is a key to larger screen size. Expect new products before year end.

  • Nokia Becoming More Ambitious [View article]
@Dopethreat : I see your point and couldn't agree more. Stock is so undervalued that there is only one way: up

Advice to all longs: let your profits run ; when Nokia starts to move higher it will for quite a long time. Stay long and you won't regret

Good article Jakob. I suppose you wrote this some time ago as Adduplex released new report yesterday. Nokia had 80 % market share of WP phones sold. Lumia 920 is top selling WP phone together with Lumia 800.

This looks very promising for Nokia: if these figures are of value then stock will take off by Q1 report coming out next week on April 18th. Nokia is a strong buy!

  • Windows Phone's Uphill Battle In The U.S. [View article]
Nokia closed those factories 5 years ago. At that time there was a lot of negative press in Germany and with a reason. 5 years is a long time and I think it does not matter so much any more. Nokia brand did take a hit, but I doubt if that is still the case today?

  • Windows Phone's Uphill Battle In The U.S. [View article]
Nokia has never had a big market share in the US mobile phone market. Even when it hold +40 % market share globally US market share was below 10 %. US market has never been essential for Nokia, they will manage just fine even if they have 1 % , 3 % or whatever of US smartphone market. It is the emerging markets, where smartphones' share is growing the most. That is where is matters. Nokia has a strong foothold there and I expect to see evidence soon whether WP is able to be a true competitor to iOS & Android. I am bullish on Nokia
