American citizen, have made almost every business mistake to be made, but enjoy learning and taught history. Have owned construction/real estate company, hotel, have health and nutrition bus and lecture, weekly health talk radio program for 3 years, have been on boards of tech companies, enjoy researching and discovering small companies with good risk/rewards potential. I use both fundamental and tech analysis. Have no ego when selling and keep losses small. I ask God for guidance in life and give thanks for my blessings and family. Always do your own research and decide for yourself and with your financial advisor for anything I might comment upon. I'm 66 but usually feel 36. Good luck
Decided to invest a quarter of my 401k myself and have been pretty successful along with other holdings outside of it - update that to really successful. Used a quarter of my 401k to quadruple the total 401k. One more big hit and I can retire at 55. TEAR, PLUG helped me the most and now I am into CRDC/Cardica, Anyone with any information with regards to this company would be most appreciated. It is 53% institutionally owned and just completed its first surgery in the US with little hoopla. They have a history of success in Europe. Other sizeable personal holdings are CRDC, RMTI, FCEL, and MEET.
I now own over 10,000 shares of CRDC bought at an average of about $.60.
Personal investor. I started investing in clean energy stocks, mostly Chinese companies, in September 2011 which was after they had generally dropped 50-75% in value. I was purchasing CSIQ, DQ, JKS, MY, and YGE at what was close to their 52 week low price, but the only problem was they continued to drop another 15-20% in price before the end of 3Q2011. Fortunately, October 2011 has been a rebound month, and overall, I have gained back most of those losses (CSIQ and DQ are yet to recover). Now, with the European Sovereign Debt Crises in a temporary holding pattern, I am waiting for the 3rd quarter earnings reports for these companies. If the reports are good, then I think these stocks will do well.
Another watch point for these stocks will be the attempt to apply trade tariffs on sales of their products in USA. If the tariffs do not happen, that will be good news. But even if the tariffs do happen, I think these companies will continue to grow and be profitable from their sales within China (which apparently is very committed to clean, renewable energy) as well as around the world.
Other stocks of interest to me: ASYS and MNTA for a bit of diversification.
