  • Are Business Development Companies Priced To Move? (Part 1)  [View article]
thx BHN and Psm for the brief info on SMF add-in. This should save me a lot of time from the cursory google info I noticed. For those wanting more, since it is off topic, an SA article on it can be found at

    http://seekingalpha.co...

though I have not read through it as of yet.

David, thanks for another month of a great starting point tool.

For those wanting a dividend list for Canada they might try "Canadian Dividend All-Star List" from David's page:

    http://bit.ly/10Whlhb

For dividend lists from other countries, I am not aware of any, but am sure a lot of SA readers would be interested in following if someone takes that role on.

GLOP's website list as an MLP is this not the case?

Do you know their credit rating?

It appears from GLOP's price chart that they have been dropped about 48% since last Sep, if this isn't related to LNG price what would are your thoughts on reason(s)?

    thanks

  • Mattel Is Not Going To Cut Their Dividends  [View article]
FDefillo, speaking of MEGA Blocks, what's happening with that? That is one of the reasons I bought MAT -- I have several kids and they are big into LEGOs and building blocks and this area is the biggest growing for the toy industry. LEGO is private so can't buy their stock, though the MEGA blocks do have a version that fully connects with LEGO blocks. Though they aren't quite as high quality in some cases the difference in cost vastly makes up for the small quality difference, except in a few specialized cases.

Two areas that are a lot lower than they would usually be even in this time where so many are considering the market to be overvalued are Oil and Commodities. Of course, IMO, those two areas are probably going to go down a bit more and/or may not recover for awhile. Point is as Chuck points out a lot there are areas where overvalue is probably not the case.

Dave I'm hoping this is the case (why the dividend was cut not just that it was cut) with GG and the market seems to be agreeing.

    good points WB

I wonder if B&H has always used the 20% rule, is this more applicable after a certain baseline portfolio is achieved, was this approach fine-tuned through hard-knocks or some combination of the above or other? I ask because I am, as are others still learning and open to other approaches to consider if they fit into what I view as my needs.

The other problem for a lot of investors who wait till a certain drop is reached is that once it hits that level a lot will wonder if it isn't going to drop even more and will not buy in for fear of buying in to high.

  • Aflac Is Undervalued & Has A 7% Shareholder Yield  [View article]
Question if the share buybacks are used in conjunction with the dividend for this "Shareholder Yield" are the new Shares dispersed through DRIP used to decrease that number as well?

I agree with others the title is considerably misleading (though it might be technically correct).

Get enough of you coworkers into getting management to switch to a 401K that offers possible partial stock investing and they may just cooperate -- Fidelity offers a good plan.

You can also add additional lines below the current for future dividends based on current price and div to see where you will be in x number of years (I keep it relatively simple and base on current numbers).

  • 'Krafting' Success For My Dividend Growth Portfolio  [View article]
Mike, thx for the article. Glad you were able to get in when you did.

I went through a number of articles and though I could find the special dividend in most (not all) I didn't come across any that mentioned whether the new Kraft Heinz Company would pay a dividend and was concerned. Miss the days the SA articles used to show up on Yahoo Finance.
