  • Apple's Valuation Is Not Rational [View article]
smartphone shipments in 1Q13 show Apple with 11% share (not 20%). Marc Andreessen on Bloomberg said that one of the major events of 2013 will be the availability of $50 Android smartphones to 3 billion people worldwide. Apple's average price per iPhone was $613 in 1Q!

I also heard Apple's conference call with Tim Cook talking about projections from IDC for the smartphone market, however I find it difficult to reconciliate all the above points. Not sure Apple will participate in the growth of the smartphone Market going forward.

Don't forget that 45% interest in Solimões was farmed out last year to TNK-BP for US$1billion, making HRT's 55% stake worth US$1.2 billion by the same metric. This is in a HRT presentation where the company attempts to calculate NAV.

  • Sell Petrobras: Too Many Troubles For The 5th Largest Energy Company Of The World [View article]
You are misreading the multiples. Petrobras deserves higher multiples due to its historically higher net profit margin of around 15%, the highest by far of the global supermajor oil companies. Also forget about P/S multiple, EV/Revenue is the correct way to interpret it. If you calculate EV correctly, and adjust the multiple for the high profit margin, you will find that PBR is extremely cheap!
