Under Bush: DOWN 15% after 8 years!
    Enough said!
    Thank you royko1!

  • Is Your Mortgage REIT In Serious Trouble If Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac Are Phased Out? [View article]
Anti: I strongly DISAGREE with your comment re: The Affordable Care Act (NOT "Obamacare as you divisively call it!) in this context. How about keeping politics out of these type discussions? You obviously did NOT read the bill. If you had, you'd realize it is an excellent bill - one of the BEST ever approved by the Government. But then again, you are probably a Republican, a Fox News watcher and an admirer of Sarah Palin who tried to tell us that Paul Revere warned the British, which tells the readers of Seeking Alpha the level of your intelligence!

Agree with Rashbaugh. Also used H&R Block software with NO PROBLEMS!
Turbo Tax seems to have the "name", but H&R Block's software is just as good or better.

  • Buy PPL For A Good Night's Sleep [View article]
PPL's Senior Management and Board of Directors are probably the WORST in the industry. Clueless people controlling a "Gold Mine"! Sad, because this company could be one of the best utilities in the market - if they DUMPED their management and Board!

  • My 2012 Investment Game Plan: Year-End Lookback [View article]
Congrat's on your success with stocks thru 2012.
I concur with you on your energy plays, especially XOM and even more especially on ETP! Others like Linn Energy, GLP and UAN look promising. (I own them all.)
Disagree with your assessment of Health Care. I believe it will be the best performer in 2013. Reason: Affordable Health Care Act.
Despite Republican allegations to the contrary, it'll mean jobs and more jobs - more doctors, nurses and medical staff needed. Drug companies (e.g, Pfizer, Lily and generic producers) will sell more pills; hospitals will service more patients with insurance (mandatory in 2014), thus more profit. As 2013 progresses; Health Care REITS (e.g., HCP, HCN) will prosper just like hospitals. Banner years ahead for Health Care sector!

  • 15% Dividend Standout Amongst Peer Group [View article]
    Hi Todd,
Once again, thanks on providing a great article. I'm long MTGE (got in early after IPO) also own ANH (PB<1, low debt; 99.9% in agency securities) that , I think, is undervalued.
One question: How much of an increase in interest rates is needed before you sell?
    Keep up good work,

  • My Biggest 11.23% Dividend Investing Strategy Blunders [View article]
Hi Todd, YEP, I did some more research and discovered that finviz and others (e.g., Barron's, TD Ameritrade) included the late May offering by MTGE of 11M additional shares in their estm. of number of shares outstanding which thus increased MTGE's Mkt Cap and prompted my comment. You were RIGHT ON, Todd, in your calculations, and thus your response. Thanks for prompt response and keep up good work.
    Long MTGE

  • My Biggest 11.23% Dividend Investing Strategy Blunders [View article]
    Hi Todd,
Once again, congratulations on providing this article - well done. One question: is showing a book/share of 47.91 (vs. the 21.78 noted in your chart - dated 3-31-2012) for MTGE. That means the MTGE Prem/Disc to book value would now be 0.49! Does that put MTGE in the BUY category for these stocks? I'm long MTGE as I believe it is the best of the mREIT investments. Insider buying and Inst buying is positive; growth estimates = positive; debt = 0. I agree with your comments re: TWO, but believe MTGE is also a very good investment until mortgage rates start to climb, which I do not believe is going to happen for at least 1-2 years. Your articles are excellent, Todd. Keep up good work.

  • Retirees' Number 1 Dividend Strategy [View article]
Wow - so true with your comment:
"The media makes more money hyping the Facebook IPO than AGNC"s 16% dividend."
If I could add to your comment: Let's not forget that the media once told us that YAHOO was worth $100B! Current MKT CAP < $19B!

  • Retirees' Number 1 Dividend Strategy [View article]
Todd: Great article. I bought MTGE shortly after initial offering and, since then, it has been both a good dividend payer and growth stock. As Bernanke has indicated that interest rates will not rise in the near future (1year), I expect that MTGE and other mReits will be able to pay their sizable dividends for at least that 1year. Like other stocks of this type, MTGE tends to dip around ex-dividend date, but then goes into recovery mode about 1mo. before the next dividend. I fully expect to sell all at the first sign of the Fed raising rates. Can I get your opinion on TWO? Regards and keep up the good work.
