  • Facebook (FB) and Netflix's (NFLX) unique U.S. PC visitors each fell 6% Y/Y in August (I, II), according to comScore's August Web traffic data. Facebook's decline was due to a methodology change, insists comScore, which has co-sponsored a study with the company. But even if growth was flat, Facebook can't be thrilled, given the U.S. is one of its most lucrative markets, and mobile monetization is a work-in-progress. Netflix's decline could partly be due to higher TV and mobile viewing.  [View news story]

  • The Justice Department has reportedly launched a broad antitrust investigation into whether cable companies are acting improperly to suppress competition from online video. DoJ officials have spoken to several online video providers, including Netflix (NFLX), and are said to have questioned Comcast (CMCSA), Time Warner Cable (TWC) and others about issues like data caps.   [View news story]

  • As Netflix (NFLX -4.2%) has another down day, CFO David Wells proclaims customers who cancelled their subscriptions last year due to displeasure with Netflix's price hike are rejoining the service, and that rejoining subscribers (those who left a year ago or less) amount to 1/3 of new subscriptions. Of course, that might also be a sign of slowing first-time subscriber adds. Separately, Netflix is rolling out a revamped web video player.   [View news story]
NFLX is yesterdays news. They got no where to go but worse and less content at a higher price.

  • Buy Low, Sell High: Netflix's New Features Will Shoot Stock Higher In 2013  [View article]
This was so well written by pauldeba it deserves to be said again.

    Many new features:

The CEO is entertaining customers by whining all the time about competition like a spoiled brat and also revealing his "charmed" multimillionaire life is all about staying inside all weekend and watching TV

The new jaw wire shutting feature on the rest of the executives is a nod to customers who don't want to be pandered by latte sipping, left coast snobs

The "somebody will buy them out" stock ticker random generator is enjoyed by shareholder. After last year's humongous buyouts from AAPL, AMZN, Verizon, Yahoo and a bunch of others, it's unknown how much of the company is still publicly traded.

Argentina accidentally nationalized them until the judge handed the Presidenta the nationalization cost and due to negative tangible net worth, she was required to ask for $6 per share from Reed, he wouldn't budge and only offered $4 for her to take this POS off his hands, negotiations have stalled

Facebook will buy them out in the coming weeks, until somebody else will a few weeks after that. They must be worth more than Instagram, right? Wrong

They have a new feature to autocomplain when streaming is down. Under the radar, they paid $1 million for an algorithm that could help customers see what their friends are complaining about, the default is set to "your stupid service is down again, I'm cancelling", the " your selections suck" is another popular algorithm for those that won't and automatic default

They are currently rolling out the "lets just give away free subs" feature, since that is the only growth they have. College kids have watched 2 billion hours of streaming last quarter, without paying a cent.

One feature that no one is talking about is the "OK, lets admit the truth" feature they will roll out for mondays conference call. The feature has been modified from the flawed " I 'm still worth half a billion and own no shares will you suckers are getting sunk smirk on various executives faces" application that was wildly unpopular in October. It has been replaced with the " we are somber and will struggle mightily to help you shareholders achieve............whoops I can't hold a straight face" app, uh-oh there will need to be more testing on this all weekend long over expensive drinks and hor douevres
