E. Brooke Whitaker is a director at IDFC Capital (Singapore) and is an expert in the restructuring and sale of corporate/state-owned assets and companies across a wide range of industries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He has worked on over 80 middle-market transactions and has closed over US$2 billion in IPOs and auctions in the emerging markets.
From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Whitaker founded and led Thumos Limited, a boutique advisory firm providing specialized corporate finance advisory services to corporates, private equity funds and governments in the emerging markets. Prior to that, he was a Senior Manager at Arthur Andersen within its Global Corporate Finance/Emerging Markets group, during which he led numerous restructuring and sale-side financial advisory mandates.
Mr. Whitaker holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth U.S., where he was a research fellow at its Centre for Private Equity, and holds a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Maryland, U.S.
Mr. Whitaker is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Asiatic Society, and is conversant in Arabic, Swahili, Thai and French.
