Starting as a summer intern in 1978, Kirk worked for 20 as a scientist and engineer at Hewlett Packard's research and development department (R&D) designing solid state devices and components for optical communication. While he was at HP, Kirk invested ten to twenty percent per year of his salary. He made some mistakes early on (starting with paying high fees for "expert" advice that under performed) but soon he learned to invest his own money well enough to afford a life of "semi-retirement" to work for himself. In a way, since leaving HP in 1998, Kirk became his own "angel investor" using his his own money and investing success to finance his lifestyle in Los Altos, California to invest in a new career on the internet helping others do the same. After almost 30 years of investing experience in the international markets (U.S., Canada, Australia, Europe), Value Digger has formulated a deep understanding of valuation analysis and his investment philosophy is firmly grounded in Ben Graham-style value-oriented opportunities that often have an assymetric risk/reward profile. On that front, he has created a unique proprietary database with thousands of publicly-traded companies per sector, which helps him spot the bargains and the bubbles before many investors find them.

For my own account I invest mainly in technology and biotechnology stocks, but occasionally I invest in industrial, retail and other stocks. My technology and investment web site is openicon.com. I still enjoy IT consulting and always have some sort of R&D project going on.

Love the trill of the hunt. Finding that little gem which is set to take off. I check daily and will trade partial position to accumulate shares for the longer haul.
I have been trading for a while, the first shares I ever bought were in the B.P. IPO. I have lived and worked all over the world in a number of capacities, including as a teacher and a Corporate Director. I now spend much of my time at Home with my four children ( hence my name), leading a much more settled life.
I believe that core growth and dividend returns are important, but a small manageable portion of your portfolio must always be invested in High risk High return scenarios. Don't bet more than you can afford and whenever possible play with the houses money. Start a position early. Start Small and accumulate.
Institutional investment manager authoring on a variety of topics that pique my interest, and could further discourse in this online community. I hold an MBA from the University of Chicago, and have earned the CFA designation.
My articles may contain statements and projections that are forward-looking in nature, and therefore inherently subject to numerous risks, uncertainties and assumptions. While my articles focus on generating long-term risk-adjusted returns, investment decisions necessarily involve the risk of loss of principal. Individual investor circumstances vary significantly, and information gleaned from my articles should be applied to your own unique investment situation, objectives, risk tolerance, and investment horizon.
I'm a mathematician by training and I invest for the long term by identifying economic trends and business fundamentals. I invest in small to mid-sized companies with superb fundamentals for outsized growth and I use my own economic analysis for allocating investments among stocks, bonds, commodities, or REITs.

We have a diverse team of financial analysts, with a minimum qualification of an MBA, and we are trying very, very hard to diversify further. Right now, we cover biotech, semiconductors, energy, telecom, mining, an occasional emerging company that we think has value. We also like writing on dividends, mREITs, Chinese and Indian ADRs, and gold.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need financial research, be it for a website, or for a fund manager, or even for a private investor.
