Sounds like you should have been called upon to contribute to Isaacson's work.

Great summary, thanks for the effort. A very interesting man who exerted a huge influence over 21st Century technology to say the least.

Can I assume from your post that you see no great value in Apple products and computers in general? If you question this read your own first sentence and insert computer for Mac.

Can I conclude from you post that you are a PC/Windows user and have not used a Mac?

Do you really believe that Steve Jobs who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, being the consummate planner, innovator and detail micro manager that he was and having seven years to plan for his ultimate inevitable demise would leave his company without a rock solid plan for the foreseeable future? Let us not treat this as though his death was the result of some sudden event. He know it was coming and he most likely laid out the future in great detail as far as his innovative eye could see.

Actually, I consider the article to be full of ho humm and other same old same old stuff. Truth is every time Apple comes to market with a hit product it comes closer to an eventual non-event. That problem would have been present even with Steve Jobs at the helm. None of us know what the future will bring to Apple. What we do know is that Steve Jobs was an incredible visionary and being such he most likely planned well for his departure from the company he loved. Few among us can see around corners as he seemed capable of doing.

  • Thank You Mr. Jobs [View article]
I love the words simple and elegant when it comes to Apple products. They are the first words I use when asked why I use them. How is it different than a PC? A PC is clumsy and a Mac is simple and elegant. Steve I never met you but I think these are the words you would use in describing your company's creations.

  • 'Let's Talk' iPhone 5 Is A Game Changer [View article]
Wow, Jeff and there have a hundred billion sunrises and sunsets and they still get Ooohs and Aaahs. You need a little fun in your life. Head off to the Mucky Duck on Captive Island and watch the sun set into the Gulf of Mexico or off to Malibu Beach California and watch sun set into the Pacific behind a couple dozen surfers then come back and simply revel in the achievement of humans who have figured out how to fit all of that technology into something the sizes of a Kit Kat bar. That my friend is game changing regardless of your negativity.

Do you consider Google to be an innovator? Or,as some believe, is Google surviving off of its search engine without real innovation and therefore vulnerable to competitors picking off pieces of its empire like Facebook has.

  • Apple's Shares Will Go Nowhere [View article]
I always get a kick out of writers who can see the future but were not prescient enough to have seen it when Apple stock was trading a $2.00 per share. Did you foresee the iPod or the iPad or the iPhone ? My guess is no. So now you have seen that there is an end to the innovation. Your credentials are lacking.
