  • Indicators Show Dumb Money Buying Stock Rally While Others Take Profits [View article]
So obvious to all that the market must correct soon, that's why it will go higher. Sorry shorts, keep waiting, logic has nothing to do with it.

  • Investors Don't Understand Apple's Math - A Mistake [View article]
Actually no, in table one you are comparing Apple 1Q13 guided value of $52B to 1Q12 actual of $46.33. Apples guided value for 1Q12 was $37B. So you are comparing guided to actual?? Since Apple always guides low this is an invalid comparison. So rather than say the revenue increase for 1Q13 will be up 12.2% you could more accurately say that Apple guided up for last years guidance 52B vs 37B or up 40.5%! We don't know what Apple will actually do in 1Q but they always guide conservatively. If they do their typical 16.3-25.2B (1Q11/1Q12), lets take an average of 20.8% it means revenue would be 52B x 1.208 = $62.8B. So 1Q12 vs 1Q13 would be 62.8B vs 46.33B or up 35.6%! Correct for one less week and the percent increase is 46% increase in revenue for 1Q13. This is a far cry from your 12.23% or 20.86% numbers.

You can do the same calculation for EPS, again, comparing EPS guidance with EPS actual is simply not apples to apples comparison. If you compare EPS guidance to previous guidance Apple is projecting a $11.75 vs $9.30 1Q last year or a 26.3% higher. If we assume a VERY conservative (given Apple guidance history) 20% beat vs previous 1Q apple would make 14.10 EPS. Comparing an equal 13 week period this is 14.10 vs 12.87 or a 9.5% beat in EPS vs your numbers of -8.77 to -15.28%. I'll wager my number comes closer than yours!

Good analysis except for the first table which is wrong. You are comparing 1Q13 guidance with 1Q12 actuals and showing negative growth in revenue and EPS. You also neglect the 13 vs 14 week you mention later in the article. Apple's typical beat on rev and EPS will give double digit growth in revenue and margin for the quarter not negative especially if you correct for the shorter quarter. Article would have been 5 stars but you only get 3 stars because you compared apples to apples vs oranges.

WSJ article on retail sales had this hidden nugget, which has been ignored by the analysts.
The numbers also reflect the popularity of Apple Inc.'s gadgets. "The release of the new Apple iPad in the middle of March and the lower price on the iPad 2 resulted in the strongest gains in electronic store sales since October, when Apple released the latest version of the iPhone," said Chris Christopher, senior principal economist at IHS Global Insight.

Aircel To Launch Apple's iPhone 4 In India May 27

    May 24, 2011 22:40:12 (ET)

NEW DELHI (Dow Jones)--Aircel Ltd. said Wednesday it will start selling Apple Inc.'s (seekingalpha.com/symbo...) iPhone 4 smartphones in India May 27, as mobile telecommunication companies start rolling out third-generation services.

It will offer the new model of iPhone, which is popular for its high-speed Internet and mobile software capabilities, under both post-paid and pre-paid subscription plans.

Aircel will charge INR34,500 for iPhones with 16 gigabyte capacity and INR40,900 for those with 32 gigabyte capacity. Users will be able to recover the cost in monthly credits in their subscription accounts over 24 months, it said in a statement.

Aircel has more than 50 million subscribers for its second-generation services. It started providing 3G services in February.

Malaysia's Maxis Communications Bhd holds a 74% stake in Aircel, while India's Apollo Hospitals group owns the rest.

Apple's iPhone 4 was first released in the U.S. and four other countries in June last year, with a starting price of $199.

  • Apple Trading Even With the S&P 500 [View article]
All I can say is out of every investment I have the above depressed PE makes Apple my safest investment. Yes, it is undervalued by 2X now, the market will finally get it after another few quarters of unequaled growth. If anyone thinks that Apple is a one trick pony that will not rock the market with new products/upgrades in the future that have been on the drawing board for years they have not looked at history. Apple is one of the bright spots in how to manage a company, how to develop innovative products that the world wants, and how to treat their customers.

All I can say is if you are not an investor now, do it, you will not regret it. Ignore the FUD, this is still the best hidden investment opportunity.

  • What We'll Do After Apple Announces Blowout Quarter [View article]
Half of Apple's revenue comes from products (iphone, iTouch, iTunes, i...) not even conceived of by the mass market 3 years back. The iPad is around six month old. You can be sure that Apple is hard at work designing the next generation of market changing goods as we discuss. I can't think of a more innovative, higher growth rate, more profitable technology company out there. If you want to invest in the future of mobile computing it's the place to be.

THere is a typo: "Revenue for the quarter was $15.68 billion, growing [82%’] from the prior December quarter’s results and surpassing our previous quarterly record by almost $3.5 billion. Operating margin was Apple’s highest ever at $4.73 billion representing 30.1% of revenue. Net income was $3.38 billion, up 50% over the year-ago quarter and was almost $850 million higher than our previous record. Earnings per share were $3.57." Should read "Earnings per share were $3.67."

  • Seven Reasons Why the Shorts Love Apple [View article]
Excellent idea to start applerevolution.com. Given that some professional analyst can no longer be trusted and hedge funds likely pay some bloggers to write stories supporting their stock manipulation strategy of the day, the individual investor is in need of a news analysis site that separates fact from fiction. If you read any headline today the line between opinion and news/facts is very blurred. The name of game is getting traffic, and the more absurd the title generally the more it benefits the author's traffic rank. There is little accountability for credibility short term. Long term the blogger or analyst loses what can never be replaced, their reputation for writing the truth.
