  • Is Apple Going to Start Making TVs? [View article]
I'd put an iMac in the kitchen if I could figure out how to run ethernet in there. Between podcasts and all the other streaming sites I cant watch plenty of content.

For anyone saying Apple TV sales are slow that's the point the guy is making. Direct-tv sales would be slow too if they didn't have the NFL ! That's the point ! Apple needs more compelling reasons to buy this thing than just iTunes shows and movies.

Start with the NFL and then sell all you can eat access to shows and movies for a monthly fee.

And Dan Raybern - I think the point about baseball was that live sports CAN be delivered over the internet to living rooms now. For people clinging to traditional services just because of sports that's something. It means the technology is there for an Internet based living room.

  • Why Apple Could - And Should - Start A DRIP [View article]
How original bn. Post that for every comment that's USA oriented on a US based site. I can't see myself posting comments like yours on the Japanese equivalent of Seeking Alpha, complaining about the Japanese flavor of the site.
    What a tired comment.

  • What To Expect From Bank Of America In Roller Coaster Bank Earnings Season [View article]
I don't know why the banks need all these branches. I have no hard facts, but when I go to my branch in a prosperous part of a large city there's usually nobody there. Tellers chatting. And managers with very clean desks.
What services do people need a branch for? And what services do people need branches all over the place like convenience stores for?

I don't know anything about retail banking - so I'm actually asking.

  • Apple: Why It's Still A Buy Now Despite Its Most Recent Surge [View article]
The article is a little confusing. He refers to the sold call as a put. A sold call is not the same as a put, at all.

And as I think you know, the share price doesn't have reach the strike price to make money. You could buy October 700s tomorrow morning and make a nice profit by the afternoon if aapl has a decent day. Same thing with spreads, but spreads do better closer to expiration. Unless they go very deep in the money.

  • Why RIM Should Offer Itself to Microsoft, HP or Dell [View article]
"The names that continue to be at the top of my list of suitors are Microsoft (MSFT), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) and DELL. Microsoft is the obvious choice here because for quite some time it has been trying to become relevant in the mobile phones market. "

If the deep tie to Nokia isn enough and MS needs Moto too it's a pretty damning picture of how MS has fumbled mobile. Not to mention the Danger purchase.
