  • A123 Increases IPO Price Range [View article]
Wouldn't flywheels be tough to compete with? -- "A123 is pursuing are frequency regulation and end user power"...O&M, replacement costs, and of course high front end costs?

  • Why Lead-Carbon Batteries Will Deflate the Li-ion Bubble [View article]
    John,
Referencing a P.T. Barnum figure like Khosla is not the kind of "support" you want. He has proven the he will say anything (as long as it sounds good) to pump his investments--he is shameless and actually gets the facts wrong more often than not.
VC's like Khosla are to be avoided--just look at his stance on corn based ethanol in 2005--either he was lying or incompetent when speaking about the issues. He beats the same drum wherever he goes...like the pied-piper of old, he will send you right off the cliff (after his exit of course).

  • The Plug In Vehicle Scam [View article]
Thank you for the article. However, I am concerned about your reliance on DOE to predict market penetration of PHEV in the auto industry. In the past 8 months, too much has changed too fast to use DOE material--lagging information due to now defunct assumptions--inaccurate assumptions produce unreliable conclusions.
Would you agree that "small" PHEVs is a real market in the near term? (under 2000lbs)
Have you ever been in one room with over 2000 lead acid batteries charging simultaneously? I have been in many. I have also discharged more EVs than you can imagine over the past 30 years.

  • Will the Audacious Bailouts for Alternative Energy Happen? [View article]
Don't bother being interested, it is the same copy/paste post "Nick" has been propagating across the web...posted the same piece half a dozen times already on Seeking A.

  • Lithium Unicorns and Alternative Energy Storage [View article]
Yes, it appears that Mr. Tahil is either on medication or should be...?nuclear reactors under the twin towers causing the collapses?
Sometimes the right answer actually is the simplest...planes flying 400+mph, full of jet fuel, growing fire, + structural degradation of steel under temperature = building collapse.
