Wouldn't flywheels be tough to compete with? -- "A123 is pursuing are frequency regulation and end user power"...O&M, replacement costs, and of course high front end costs?

John, Referencing a P.T. Barnum figure like Khosla is not the kind of "support" you want. He has proven the he will say anything (as long as it sounds good) to pump his investments--he is shameless and actually gets the facts wrong more often than not. VC's like Khosla are to be avoided--just look at his stance on corn based ethanol in 2005--either he was lying or incompetent when speaking about the issues. He beats the same drum wherever he goes...like the pied-piper of old, he will send you right off the cliff (after his exit of course).
Thank you for the article. However, I am concerned about your reliance on DOE to predict market penetration of PHEV in the auto industry. In the past 8 months, too much has changed too fast to use DOE material--lagging information due to now defunct assumptions--inaccurate assumptions produce unreliable conclusions. Would you agree that "small" PHEVs is a real market in the near term? (under 2000lbs) Have you ever been in one room with over 2000 lead acid batteries charging simultaneously? I have been in many. I have also discharged more EVs than you can imagine over the past 30 years.

Don't bother being interested, it is the same copy/paste post "Nick" has been propagating across the web...posted the same piece half a dozen times already on Seeking A.

Yes, it appears that Mr. Tahil is either on medication or should be...?nuclear reactors under the twin towers causing the collapses? Sometimes the right answer actually is the simplest...planes flying 400+mph, full of jet fuel, growing fire, + structural degradation of steel under temperature = building collapse.
